He listened, knowing he couldn't continue with his mercenary job. He was kicked out so long ago, he couldn't figure why he was still here..
"Right. Perhaps new base that is not within range of cloud?" the Engie suggested while glancing to Mick, who had been rubbing his face. "When time comes, we should talk more of this. I would be happy to help assist with this idea."
Mick thought back about what Scout had said, and lifted his head to speak, but she had already done so. He listened to her talk about the night Medic brought him back, and he nodded slowly.
"You keep bringin' up mah brother.." he said while frowning, shaking his head. "Whot do ya mean? Whot 'whole thing with spy'.. and 'what 'e did to Aristide'.."
He scooted forwards a little while watching
"Whot did 'e do to me brother? 'Es Kris.. Ah've been around th' man for so long.. What could 'e 'ave done?"

She briefly turns her attention to Engineer before shrugging and nods, "Yeah, that's the idea..and even if it does somehow reach out that far, the island will be vacant..so we won't have to deal with mutants ever.." Jessie explains, her face lighting up when Mekhl offered his assistance when the time came, "Py would be glad to hear that..especially since we'll need teleporters and a respawn system that's up and running for it to truly be a base!" Scout was about to continue her chat with the other RED until the Sniper asked about his bothers ask and she made it clear that she wasn't all that keen on sharing the man's cruel fate with the other two men, "Uhh..I'm not to suuuurree how to explain iiiit.." She grimaces, "I mean..he's not dying..but I personally think it's worse than death.." She sits up and turns away from the two, "I'll uhh..you will..you'll see for yourself..!" Jess tells him. Having to possibly explain Spy's situation had overridden the shock of finding out that this man was his brother, she made a mental note to question him about that later. She starts making her way towards the door, "Look..we'll discuss this more in a few..I need to get my stuff together! Think about what you guys are planning to do.." She tells them before walking out of the room.

He sighed and sat there just wanting to know what happened to his brother, but Scout didn't want to come out and say it to him. Frowning and crossing his arms over his chest, he watched as the Scout left.
Leaving Mekhl alone to think, and Mick alone to be upset.
"Do ya know whot happened ta me brother?" the Sniper asked the Engie, who in turn, shook his head and didn't answer. This got the Sniper upset and he sighed while moving to stand
"I'll be back. Don't let Scout leave without me."
He left the Engie alone in order to head to his room to pack up as well, planning on heading back with the Scout to figure out what was up with Spy.
Mekhl sat there, trying to figure out what happened, before standing and moving to meet the two halfway out in the hall.
Sniper was only a couple minutes, he packed his things into a bag and slung the rifle he was given over his shoulder in order to head out to find Scout and Engie

Scout didn't have much to gather, just her bank card, some clothing and a few personal belongings such as her weapons. She was able to fit most of her items into a backpack and with that, she quietly exits her room and heads back towards the lab, but she didn't get very far when she ran into Engie again, "O-oh! Was I taking too long?" She questioned, but they were then met with Sniper again as well, "I take it that you both had already made up your minds." Jess leans back against the wall and crosses her arms while raising a brow as if waiting for them to come out and explain their decisions to her. She didn't want to head back into the wastelands by herself again and although she would certainly be slowed down if she had someone else with her, she much rather have someone to cover her and keep her company.

He blinked and noticed how they all sort of got there at the same time, and he nodded while clutching a napsack close.
"Ah wos plannin on headin' with you. Dependin' on arrangements, ah ken foind me own place ta stay.."
He figured Scout had a place to stay with Pyro and Ari, but after hearing something was wrong, there was no way he was just going to sit around with a rifle stuck up his butt
"Scout and Sniper head back. I will stay behind. Whenever you get island base planned, you let me know. You have my number." Engie said while moving forwards and moving to hug the female again. This would be the last time in a long time he'd be able to interact with her again.
And he was holding back tears
"I send.. emotional farewell to best friend.."

She glances over at Sniper and frowns, she didn't feel right leaving Mekhl behind considering that she had been with him since day one of the disaster and was her last surviving teammate, "Keep in touch..alright?" She sighs, "If things get worse here..you know where to go." She taps the side of her head, knowing he could figure out where she currently resided by just reading her inner thoughts, "Or you could just track my phone..! Either works.." Jess softly chuckles as she hugs her fellow RED back for several moments before stepping back. Jess looks back at Sniper and gestures him to follow, "This is not goodbye.." She silently mutters before turning away from Mekhl and takes a moment to make sure her gun was loaded, she then pulls her hood back over her head, darkening her features and leaves without another word to him. Outside, Scout leads Mick towards the river so they could follow it back up and carefully make their ways out of the dead zone.

He switched his napsack and rifle, hitching his sack over his back and holding his rifle in his arms. Mekhl was left without a word and the Engineer lowered his head. Mekhl turned and headed back inside before disappearing
Mick turned to follow Scout, jogging a little to keep up a few times
"So uhm.. how far away do they live?" He asked gently after a few minutes. He was weary of his surroundings, given he was a Sniper.. but he wasnt sure what to look for now. He was very much out of the loop with the goings on around there.
"An mean.. loik.. how long we gonna be walkin' fer?"

Scout had grown unusually quiet shortly after leaving Mekhl behind, she was clearly bummed out about the whole ordeal, but luckily Sniper was able to snap Jess out of her negative train of thought when he asked about the distance they were traveling. She wasn't able to give an exact estimate and so a rough guess was all she could provide, "It shouldn't be any longer than two days of traveling at this pace before we make it out of the dead zone. Once we pass the boarders, we should be able to hitch a ride to the nearest airport or if we are really desperate, a train station." She explains, "Your scope will come in handy..I think we'll be safe for the first two miles, but after we start getting into their territory." Scout adds with a nervous smile, those things truely creeped her out and she prefered running from them than sticking around to fight, but with a extra body with her, she was afraid that fleeing was no long an option, "How far can you see in that thing?" Jessie then asks with a hint of curiosity in her voice as she points at the rifle.

He nodded and knew that he'd been out in the wilderness for longer than two days.. especially out within the Outback of Australia when he was younger. Much.. younger. He bit his lip and turned his head to her as she spoke of his rifle, and he shrugged
"Uhm.. half mile or so.. mebbe more.." he explained while gripping it a little more
"It aint jes th' scope.. its me eyes that help out too. Ya gotta really pay attention."
Too bad his skills were thrown down the drain the day he was fired, they really could've come in handy.
He went silent and didn't really want to think of those days anymore.. slinging the rifle around his neck in order to free his hands to grab for a smoke
He sat there with a cig between his lips before exhaling some fumes through his nose
"You've got nothin' ta worry about. Ahm pretty good with fightin'.. protectin' those who need it."

Jessie seemed impressed by the visual range the rifle had, it definitely would come in handy for their current outting. She nods and grows quiet once again until they were nearly two miles out and some of the territory became familiar to her. Scout hurries along and takes shelter behind a large pile of scrap metal, it was likely a car at some point, but it was contorted and damaged beyond recognition..she didn't want to imagaine what cause the mess in the first place, "See anything? LIke..should we continue along the river or what?" She asks while squatting down behind the shreaded metal. Currently, she didn't hear or see anything out of the ordinary, but she would like Sniper determine that as he was better accommodated to do so and give a better judgement.
