Connor was reached the house after work. He was tired, and it was getting to be quite late. It didn't help that he knew Gisselle would still be working for a while longer, and that he'd need to go back in tomorrow afternoon. The restaurant had been quite busy, and he was now exhausted. Opening the door, Connor stepped in as he tried to hold in a yawn.

[Fraus]

Nana lifted her little fox head slightly before dropping it back on to her paws. There was no point being there anymore but her body didn't want to move so she'd just ended up being laid in the cold all day while the two were gone. She'd purposely put out the fire, finding it a waste to spend it on such a useless person when there were the actual house owners

[Tigme]

Connor had expected, and hoped, to be greeted with a warm household as he entered his home. However instead, he simply shivered, and looked around in the darkness, thinking the fire had simply gone out. He couldn't see a thing in the darkened home, and turned into a cat so he could actually see. Quickly making his way over to the fireplace, he threw some more wood in, and grabbed the fire starter before turning back into a human. He had learned the hard way not to start the fire as a cat, where flammable fur was so close to the flames. Starting it up, he stood up, and looked around, "Nana?" he said, trying to see where she was.

[Fraus]

Nana gave a slight whine from the heat of the fire, covering her face with her tail. Instantly she got up and started to head up stairs, out of the way of Connor as she already knew she'd be ignored or he'd procrastinate and never get round to actually talking to her. With her thick fur she was hardly cold but she didn't use her thick fur, simply turning into a fennec fox and laid at the top of the stairs, not wanting anything from anyone

Connor heard Nana give a quiet wine, and saw as she headed up the stairs. He let out a sigh, and sat in the chair of the dining room for a moment. His head began hurting again, just trying to think. Memories, lies, what's real, what's not real, why did it all need to get jumbled in his mind? He knew it wouldn't be fun to speak with her, not for his mind, not for him, he wasn't sure about anything, but he knew Gisselle wouldn't be happy if he didn't do this now. And anyways, he had to get through it eventually. Heading up the stairs, he saw her at the top step as a fennec fox, and picked her up. Opening the door, he brought Nana into the room and put her on the bed before sitting next to him.

Nana saw Connor come upstairs, instantly ducking her head as a reaction but was surprised as she was picked up, just being limp in his arms. This hadn't happened in a while and guessed it was Nana's own actions which persuaded Connor to talk to her. Still, she turned human on the bed and looked in the opposite direction, holding onto her arms with a slight shiver. What Connor wanted was a complete mystery so she just looked away and played with a strand of her hair, twizzling it around her finger over and over again, feeling the awkwardness of the room as if she'd been slapped in the face by it

Connor looked down at his hands, and began fiddling with his hands. He could see Nana had changed back into a human out of the corner of his eye, but knew she wasn't likely to start the conversation. He wasn't too sure what he was gonna say, how he could explain what was going on in his head when he barely knew himself. How could he really put all this into words anyways? After a moment, he spoke, keeping his voice quiet, "We've... got a lot to talk about." He wasn't even too sure what he'd begin to say, just trying to think about all this made his head hurt. And it didn't help with how tired he was after a long day at work.

Nana still didn't look at Connor, moving some hair from her face and starting up. "You don't need to worry about me. I'll be leaving tomorrow. I'm obviously a nuisance so I'll get out of your hair" she replied simply, she knew her place as well as knowing that stepping up was important. Nana would collect her case, make sure everything was there and leave before dawn, making sure no one would notice. She'd had to move on many times before so one more time wasn't going to hurt. She'd learnt how to hunt so she was going to survive as well as other survival skills. The emotional attachment would break and she could simply move on with her life

"W-wait!" Connor quickly stood up as Nana did, "Gisselle doesn't want you to leave," He said, "Please, just hear me out." He wasn't too sure what he would say, but he had to try and explain himself, and quickly. How would he do it, though, especially as he wasn't entirely sure himself? "It's... it's not your fault I'm acting this way," He knew that wasn't entirely the truth, but sometimes small lies were needed in situations like this, "My-my-my-my mind acts funny a lot, I-I don't always know what's real, an-and what's an illusion." He wasn't sure if she'd understand, but it was worth a shot.
