Origins: A Forgotten Time - 1x1: Tigermeow and The Ninth One

[Tigme]

"Sometimes, people just die." Catherine shrugged, not seeing much of the sentimental side of Iskari's monologue, "But if you ask me, it's always best to keep people at an arm's distance. Don't wanna get with the wrong crowd, and end up dead like him," She motioned to Lockhart's lifeless body, "I don't care where you're from, or who you are, I don't care about anyone unless they offer me money, or try to kill me." She couldn't help but let out a laugh, "Many have tried, but I'm still kicking! You always gotta watch out for the one thing you never think of. Otherwise, that'll be the thing that gets... you..." She began to trail off as she spoke, going off onto a tangent, and mumbling to herself. As she did so, she gave a blank stare into the distance.

[Jeydon]

Iskari's features darkened in confusion as she skeptically eyed the suddenly distracted woman. After a moment, the assassin looked away, seemingly unconcerned with Catherine's strange tendencies. Rifling through the contents of Lockhart's bag, Iskari quickly located and withdrew several thick stacks of bills, flipping through them in a vague attempt to determine their value and authenticity, before turning back to Catherine.
"Take your money," Iskari spoke in a flat monotone, holding out the bills to the other woman as she did so, "I have no use for it."

[Tigme]

Catherine ignored Iskari for a few moments, still lost in thought. Then, she remembered, and shook her head. She hadn't realized the chase had gone on for longer than she thought, but it didn't matter now. It wasn't as though remembering she had stalked him prior would make such a big deal. Snatching the money out of Iskari's hands once she came to, she rolled her eyes, "Yeah yeah, revenge killing and all that. Don't go into another monologue on me." She spoke, then glanced down at the body. There had been something about that stupid organization she wanted to get out of him, but right now there was no use crying over spilled milk, or in this case, blood.

(How... exactly are we gonna get these two characters to team up?)

[Jeydon]

(That may be an issue...)
"Well? What further business do you have here? You have your money, so now, if you'd be so kind, I'd appreciate it if you allowed me to finish my job in peace."
Iskari crouched by the dead man's side as she spoke, slipping a hand into the pocket of his oversized jacket. She withdrew yet another of the spherical devices, before moving onto the other pockets, retrieving a few old, stained, and wrinkled pieces of paper.

[Tigme]

Well, I do remember that in her personality, Catherine will follow around pretty much anyone if she thinks they're connected to that group that not even she knows what is. Maybe something in his pockets could interest Iskari and have something to do with the group so she decides to tag along, sadly both of their better wishes?))

Catherine rolled her eyes, "I'll leave when I want," She scoffed, but after a quick glance around realized there wasn't anything for her to do around here. At least, not until her eye caught one of the papers Iskari was shuffling with. There was a symbol on it, something that was part of that stupid group she was after, "Hey, let me see that!" She swiftly took the paper from her hands, just to make sure her eyes weren't deceiving her. She was right: she didn't now how exactly she knew, but that was the symbol of that stupid group.

[Jeydon]

Okay!))
"Wha-" Iskari shot Catherine a glare as the paper was ripped from her hands. Swiftly, her glare shifted to the paper in Catherine's hands, and narrowed into a skeptical gaze.
"What do you know about that?" Iskari inquired curtly, rising to her full height beside Catherine.

[Tigme]

"I could be asking you the same thing with that look you're giving me!" Catherine glared at Iskari as she took the paper back, "But I do know these guys are the scum of the earth. I've been looking for them for as long as I can remember!" She wondered what the other woman may know about these people.

[Jeydon]

Iskari froze, expression hardening as her slate-grey gaze finally stilled as it settled on Catherine. Those words... She'd only heard them twice, but she knew they were the same.
"What did you just say?" Iskari questioned, her tone quiet, almost disbelieving, yet still holding a demanding edge.

[Tigme]

"Which part?" Catherine held her glare, "The part where I asked what you knew, or how these idiots are the scum of the earth?" She didn't even know why she was responding, but any hint she could get towards the group's location, she would make sure to stick to it until she no longer could.

[Jeydon]

"'Scum of the earth'..." Iskari whispered, her eyes staring blankly through Catherine, as though she were seeing a ghost, "Why those words? 'Scum of the earth', out of all the words you could use, out of all the titles you could give them, why those words?"
She remembered clearly now - it had been years ago, but she'd never forget it. Those words seemed to be drilled into the bones of people like herself, etched into their very souls. Sooner or later, those words always seemed to slip out, a gnawing instinct of speech.
