"Ryan!" Brendon said, a little louder. He knew what Ryan was dreaming about now. His hands shook a little, knowing how sensitive his boyfriend was towards the topic of his father.

Ryan was startled as he finally woke up, coming back to reality. At first he thought his father was here and had finally found him. He thought the old man had come back to punish him for all the wrong he'd done. For being in love with boys. For existing... But when Ryan opened his eyes and, through the haze, saw Brendon... He let out a breath he didn't even know he'd been holding in.

Brendon pulled Ryan into a hug. He rested his head on Ryan's shoulder and put his hand on the back of his neck. "Are you okay?" He asked, sincerely wondering.

Ryan sniffled and tightly wrapped his arms around Brendon, shaking from the adrenaline. He closed his eyes and buried his face in Brendon's neck, petting his boyfriend's hair to make sure this was the real world. "B-bad d-dre-eams-s." Ryan shuddered, choking back a sob and holding Brendon tight.

"I know Ry, it's ok. I'm here... I'm here." He held Ryan like his life depended on it, heart thudding. "It was just a dream." He said, attempting to sooth Ryan.

"A-are y-y-you-u s-sure?" Ryan stammered out, clinging to Brendon as tears fell down his cheeks. He breathed in Brendon's scent. This was reality.

"It was just a dream." He repeated, pressing his face into Ryan's hair. He felt Ryan's tears on his neck, and almost cried himself. He got choked up and let out a shaky breath.

Tears were freely flowing down Ryan's cheeks. He felt a little dizzy, but the emotional pain was more overwhelming. He made a broken little noise as he choked out a sob, holding onto Brendon, desperate to stay grounded. "I-I..." Ryan choked and spluttered. "L-love y-you." He whimpered desperately, hoping that Brendon would never let go.

"I love you too," Brendon breathed "so damn much. Don't ever think otherwise." Despite his efforts to contain himself, two tears rolled down his face. He sniffled and held Ryan tighter, rocking a little.

Ryan sniffled and mutely nodded, trying to wipe away his tears, but no avail. He swallowed down his grief and brushed Brendon's hair with his fingertips. His heart ached, but he had the man he loved close to him. "B?" He whimpered softly. "A-are y-you... W-would-d-d y-you..." Ryan tried to speak, but he was choked off by a soft sob. He buried his face in Brendon's shoulder and spluttered a bit.
