"Huge sea cucumbers." Brendon said, widening his eyes at the word 'huge'. He put down a 4 of diamonds and took the cards.

“Hmm.” Ryan set down a jack of clubs. “And even larger clams.” He tapped his fingers against the deck, noticing the sky was starting to burst with color. He took off his sunglasses and enjoyed the view.

Brendon pulled a 2 of hearts, laughing at he and Ryan's immaturity. He saw Ryan looking out and decided to do the same, noticing the pinks and oranges of the sunset. He tossed his glasses onto the sand next to his chair.

Ryan glanced over and grabbed the cards, he straightened out his deck of winnings and stared up at the sky for a moment. He watched as the blues turned into pinks turned into oranges and showed purples. California sunsets were always the best sunsets. Ryan but his lip and resumed the game, setting down an ace of spades.

Brendon set down a 5 of clubs. He noticed most of the people were gone from the beach, besides an elderly couple further down to their left, and a family packing up not too far to their right.

Ryan yawned and set down a four of clubs, shivering a little as another gust of wind flew past. He looked off to the side and saw some sea lions basking in the remaining sunlight. “After the game you wanna go for a dunk or check in early?” He murmured thoughtfully.

"Yeah," Brendon said. "Either works." He set down a 2 of spades.

Ryan set down a king of hearts and claimed his hand. "We have all day tomorrow to do beach stuff." Then he set down a six of diamonds. “Don’t have to wake up early. We can order from the breakfast bar. Then we can just laze around, eat whatever we want, and spend time in the hotel as we please.” Ryan smiled, feeling elated.

Brendon set down a 3 of diamonds and looked up happily, seeing the orange light from the sky on Ryan's face. He looked at the soft glow of his boyfriend's skin, biting his lip slightly. His heart fluttered.

Ryan sighed softly and grabbed the cards, setting down a five of hearts. He looked into Brendon’seyes and couldn’t help but smile. The moment he finally wanted. A sunset, a quiet beach, the love of his life, and some good light-hearted fun.
