Max walked over to a computer and pulled up the attendance logs. "Seems they did a few minutes ago," he finally reported.

Anhrefn walked a short distance away and climbed one of the climbing structures in the area, settling down on a platform at the top. She watched everyone, paying attention to Jax. She growled; what a wimp.

Josh saw Raksha's reaction and internally kicked himself. "Sorry, I just meant..." he trailed off.

"Good to know." Sierra said, making a mental note to herself to get Ava to do something for her.

Raksha slightly shook her head,"I know that's not what you meant..... words like that, they just remind me of what I live as...... a lone hybrid." She whispered.

Josh looked up at Anhrefn. "You know, Anhrefn is a hybrid Chimera too. Kangaroo and blue lizard. Why they did that I have no idea."

Beth watched the Chimeras intently, leaning on the safety rail. She dreamed of the day when Chimeras and humans would live side by side as equal citizens of the world.

Raksha sighed softly,"At least hers sort of makes sense. I'm a wolf and a deer. A predator and prey. Now how does that work?" She asked softly, not really expecting an answer.

Sierra headed out the lab and began walking through the halls to get to Ava's station. About to pass by the commons room, she spotted Beth,"Nice of you to finally show up this morning. You missed some excitement." She said softly.

Josh smiled. "A beautiful paradox," he murmured.

Beth tore herself from her dreams and looked at Sierra. "Hello," she said. "if you mean the young one that Josh is holding, then yes, I suppose I did. Anything I can do?" She asked, pushing off the railing.

Raksha glanced at Josh,"why do you say that?" She asked.

Sierra nodded a bit,"Yes, that was what I was meaning. As for what you can do, not completely sure yet." She said before wondering something,"How long have you been working here for now?" She asked. She was curious because she wondered if she was here before Rosa had escaped of if she came after.

Josh suddenly turned bright red. Had he said that aloud?! "I, uh, well, ah, sometimes the most opposite of things make the most pretty," he stammered. He looked down at Keona, avoiding Raksha's gaze.

Beth thought for a moment. "Oh, a couple of years, I think. Time kind of blurs in here," she said airily. "Why?"

Raksha looked a little surprised at first, but then looked away with a little smile and rosy red cheeks.

Keona shifted a little, slightly starting to stir.

Sierra took a quick breath,"Seven years ago we had a female Chimera by the name of Rosa. She managed to escape, but not before a couple of scientists found out that she was pregnant. The young one in there with Josh, that's Rosa's child." She said softly.

Josh watched Keona. "Have a good nap?" He asked.

"Ah yes," Beth said. "I heard about her. Well, her child is pretty, but I don't see any Chimera parts."

Keona blinked her eyes open with a little yawn before looking up at Josh,"I-I fell asleep?" She asked shyly with a slight frown.

"That because she has more human DNA then lion DNA." Sierra explained,"She does have her mother's lion eyes. We plan that once she's settled in, we'll be stimulating her human DNA so that her chimera side can surface." She said.
