Eider knew that if he let himself black out he would never wake up, so he clung on to the only sound keeping him awake: Mavis's voice. He saw Liam run over a few minutes after Sam and stare at him with horror, but even his brother didn't come to help. Eider lied down on the stretched with Mavis standing over him and tried to breathe, getting only the tiniest inhale and exhale. His mind screamed for him to breathe, but he knew he couldn't. Using all his effort, he choked out a few words. "Mavis...? Thanks... for helping... me."

Eider's experience at the hospital was one of the most painful he'd ever been through. He was forced to remain conscious while the doctors performed surgery on his lungs and several torn ligaments as well. Mavis had to stay outside the room, and even when Jasmine showed up, she was not allowed to come in either. Eider felt every stitch they made and every ounce of blood that they took out of him, every needle they poked and every medicine they applied. It was awful, and he still could just barely breathe. He was fading, his eyes were closing... "We're losing him, we're losing him!" the nurse yelled frantically, and they tried their hardest to keep him alive.

Jasmine sat outside the surgery room with Ella, Mavis, Sam, and Liam. Her husband had still not shown up, which filled her with anger towards him for not being able to leave work to see his dying son, but he was the least of her concerns at the moment. She faintly heard a nurse yell that they were losing him, and knew by the way Mavis tensed up beside her that she heard as well. She turned to the girl and tried to reassure her, reassuring herself at the same time. "Eider is strong, dear. He's made it through so many horrible experiences, the poor kid. And I know being able to wake up to his new girlfriend will certainly help him." She smiled at her, and nodded as if giving Mavis her permission to date her son. "You two can help each other get through your surgeries."

Mavis wanted to go into Eider, she was still crying. She heard the nurse and tensed immidently. She whimpered. Her ears rested on the back of her head, tail between her legs. Ella and Sam came in. Mavis grabbed her mother's hands tightly.

Eider struggled to keep his eyes open and his mind functioning. He was already dying, and on top of that he was under so many drugs that it was only increasing his need to fall asleep. His eyelids drooped, and he couldn't force any more breaths out. Finally he could hold on no longer, and his eyes slowly shut. His beeping of his heart monitor turned to a long, steady sound with no beeps and his consciousness faded away. The last thing he heard was one of the nurses lean down next to him and whisper, "Hang in there, cousin."

Jasmine heard the sound of the heart monitor like the siren on an ambulance and ran to the door of the surgical room, tears streaming down her face. "My baby, oh, my poor baby..." she sobbed, and buried her face in Liam's shoulder. "It's ok Mom, calm down..." he tried to assure her, but his eyes were tearing up a little too. Then a man in a black suit ran down the hall and wrapped his arms around Jasmine and Liam. "I came as soon as I could, babe. How's our boy doing?" Jasmine couldn't respond, so Liam muttered, "Eider's heart just stopped." Josh sighed sadly and led the two of them over to the bench beside Ella and Mavis. They sat there silently, waiting for a nurse to come out and tell them what happened.

''Would Amy be strong enough to help him?'' Sam said. He was crying. Mavis was tightly hugged into Sam. She was balling. Ella hugged into them, crying as well.

Amy had her work cut out for her. The doctors hadn't been able to save him sooner because there was a tiny piece of the cyclops's tough skin embedded in his lung. The material was formed with magic, and mortal doctors had no way of curing it. She just needed a few minutes alone with him when the other doctors weren't around to use a quick spell to mend his lung and destroy the magic inside of it. One nurse went over to him and pulled the sheet over his head. They were convinced he was dead. Which he technically was, since he had no heartbeat or pulse, but Amy could bring back the dead. She'd done it before. Poor Jasmine and whoever else is out there, she thought when the nurse walked outside the room to give them the news. They're about to get a surprise. The doctors were all at the other end of the room cleaning up, and Amy took her chance. She placed her hands on his chest and murmured spells so fast her words could barely be understood. Violet light flowed from her hands and into Eider, filling him with life and healing any damage. She was careful to avoid touching his demon, remembering that Eider did not want her to destroy it. After only a minute his eyes opened and he gasped, breathing deeply for the first time in nearly an hour. He looked up at Amy and smiled, then fell asleep almost immediately.

Jasmine was filled with dread when the nurse came outside with a distraught look on her face. "I'm so sorry," she said, her eyes brimmed with tears, "But we couldn't save him." Jasmine hugged Josh tightly, sobbing into his shirt. "Oh, my poor baby!" she cried, and Josh patted her back comfortingly. Liam sniffed and was trying very hard to look like he didn't really care. Then he saw the most beautiful sight in the world: Amy's head, poking around the door. She beckoned him and Sam, and they ran in when no one else was looking. "Guys, Eider's still alive."

Sam told Mavis calm down then followed Liam into Amy. He looked at Amy,''Thank god. His girlfriend looks fairly sad.' He pointed to Mavis. Ella calmed her daughtly slightly. But was shocked when the girl slightly growled at her. ''Mavis. Stop growling. Eider's gone.'' Mavis stood and walked away from her. Ella followed but stopped when she noticed Mavis throwing her earrings back to her in their box, and her bracelet. She let her hair down as her fingertips were pure fire. She was careful though.

Amy showed Liam and Sam that Eider was breathing just fine and that his pulse was a normal rate. "Now, how should we give them the news?" she asked the boys. Instead of getting a response from them she received one from Eider, who sat up and mumbled something about ponies. Liam raised one eyebrow at Amy and asked jokingly, "Did you accidentally do something to his brain?" Amy rolled her eyes and said, "No, the doctors from before just put him on a ton of medication. He'll be acting a little funny for a while." Eider grinned and said, "Hi guys. My name is Elsa, queen of Arondale. Are you here to throw me in jail again, Hans?" He glared at Liam, who burst out laughing. "I'll kill you Hans!" Eider shouted and threw himself at his brother, literally biting him with his fangs. Liam screamed and crumpled to the floor under his sibling, yelling "What the *bleep* is wrong with him?!" Amy nearly died from laughing so hard, watching the usually-chill Liam freaking out about being attacked by "Elsa". But their loud voices attracted the attention of the devastated people still standing in the hall.

Sam was laughing so hard when Ella came in, she was worried something happened. She picked Eider up,''Don't kill Hans'' Sam was nearly on the floor he was laughing so hard. ''Sam. Mavis ran off. I think she thinks this was all her fault. Can you try find her. She's mad. Your the only person who can ever calm her please?'' Ella asked. Sam nodded. He ran out and down the corridors.
