Liam grinned and stood up, setting his controller on the bed. "I've got plenty of things we could do to take your mind off of Mavis. You're a water person thingy, right? How do you like pools? Or water balloons? Or... holy crap dude, I should take you to the Night Realm! My dad's there banishing souls, so he can teleport me if I just ask. Wanna go? It's super creepy and depressing, and one of my favorite places."

Eider and Mavis talked for a little while. Eider eventually got up and sat at the edge of the pool, kicking gently at the water while he chatted with his friend. "Hey, just asking one more time, you're sure you don't want Amy's help?"

''Why would I if it's depressing..''Sam said, ying back on the bed.


Mavis continued chatting with Eider,''I'm sure I don't''

Liam couldn't seem to understand why Sam wouldn't want to go to somewhere as weird as the Night Realm. He and his friends from school loved doing scary, freaky things and then spending the night at each others' houses. The Night Realm was like the Underworld of the Elementals: an enormous, never-ending cave-like structure where you couldn't see that top because it was filled with dark fog. His father, Josh, sat upon a throne and decided whether dead souls should be banished or should be freed. Liam loved visiting his dad there and sitting on the Throne of Lost Souls, commanding orders to the demons that served him. But Sam wasn't like him and his friends. "Well, there's some other cool stuff we could do. We could go visit my aunt and uncle's house. They, er, live in another dimension, and it's pretty cool there. My aunt, Dad's sister, is the ruler of the Dream Realm, which is sort of like the counterpart for the Night Realm. It's creepy in a different way. Everything is bright and glow-y, and it's sort of what I picture Heaven being like. Also, my super hot cousin Amy lives there, and I'm sure she's be interested in meeting you." Liam wiggled his eyebrows and grinned at him.

Eider sighed. "If you say so," he said, and changed the subject. "So, when do you think you'll get out of the hospital? And also, do the doctors not find it, er, odd that one of their patients has fox ears?" He had been wondering about that for a while. Eider and his family always went to Amy because their bodies weren't exactly normal. Jasmine's heart beat at a frequency so fast the doctors can't hear it due to her insanely strong powers, and his dad didn't even have a soul, as he kept it protected in the Night Realm. His aunt Gia had died and now had no heartbeat, and his sort of uncle Colter had the heart of a lion. Literally. No, like he ligit had a lion's heart. Uncle Simon's blood was filled with air which allowed him to levitate, Uncle Noah was over 500 years old and it was physically impossible for him to still be alive, and yet he lived on because magic And of course Eider was half demon. Yeah, they definitely didn't go to the doctor much except for Liam.

Sam laughed as he wiggled his eye brows,''I had a gf. She broke up with me a few months back. But sure I'll go meet Amy'' Sam ran his fingers through his fringe.


Mavis replied,''Mom knows alot of people so our powers are normal to them. This hospital is for people with all sorts a powers! I love it here. And it's so close. All the friends I have here are so great. But can I ask you somehing?''

Liam grinned, pleased that Sam had agreed. "You'll love her man. She's totally hot. If she weren't me cousin, I'd totally ask her out." He paused, realizing that what he said was a little weird, and laughed. "Please ignore what I just said. Now, let me just go find Eider so he can teleport us. Unless you know how to use apparation magic?"

Eider was surprised to hear of such a hospital, but impressed. Maybe his family could go there sometime. But when Mavis asked to tell him something, he felt a twinge in his stomach and was suddenly nervous. What was she about to ask? Was it about his demon, or even worse, his relationship? He wasn't ready to talk about Mira... but he responded casually, "Yeah, anything."

Sam looked at him,"Let's find Eider. I dont know how too."


Mavis asked slowly,"You have a girlfriend. Right? Well if you do.. Whyd you kiss me? Even if it was the cheek. She'd. Hate that." ((I'm so soso sorry. My writers block is worse. I'm.sorta sick rn)

Liam nodded in agreement. "Yeah, it sort of sucks for me, but my bro is like the master of magic. Probably that demon stuff or whatever, but he is like crazy strong. One time he touched my arm when he was mad, and I got severe frostbite." He started to laugh, then realizing it wasn't funny, he stopped and cleared his throat. "Anyways, let's go find him. He's probably outside."

Hearing Mavis ask about his girlfriend, Eider felt a surge of anger, but he wasn't sure if it was toward Mavis or Mira or just the world in general. He couldn't respond for a moment, but finally he managed, "Yeah, well, um, my girlfriend actually just broke up with me this morning... so I'm not too worried about her getting mad. And also I'm European, so giving kisses is often used as a gesture of friendship where I'm from. But... I mostly just did it because I like you and I wanted to show that I was sorry you were hurt without potentially hurting you. I wasn't sure if I could hug you in your condition." He paused, and didn't say anything for a moment. He saw Sam and Liam walking out the back door towards him, and Eider assumed they needed him to do some kind of powerful magic for them. He sighed, and apologized to Mavis. "Look, I should probably go. Your and my brother are I think trying to go to another dimension or something, judging by the look on Liam's face. I'll call you later?"

Sam smiled, following Liam. He ran his fingers through his fringe. He fiddled with his wristbands.


Mavis sighed,''Dom't botheer'' Then hung up.

Liam walked over to his brother with Sam behind him, and Eider put down his phone. He looked confused, but Liam paid no attention and asked, "Hey little bro, can you send me and my homie here to the Dream Realm?" Eider sighed in annoyance. "Yeah, whatever. But it's difficult magic to transport other people besides yourself out of your dimension, and to send both of your would require magic of about a level 6 in my spellbook, so conclusively-""Oh my gosh dude I don't care about the science of magic or whatever you're talking about. Just do it already." Eider shrugged and stood up, putting a hand on each of their shoulders. He looked ahead, and Liam watched him do the cool power transformation thing he always did when he used strong magic. His pupils dilated, and then his eyes lost all color, glowing an eerie off-white. His furry ears stood on end, the spikes of fur at the tips extending, and his fangs slid out. Then, in only a matter of seconds, the ground fell away under Liam and Sam and they fell into what felt like a bottomless pit, but was actually a rip between worlds.

Eider watched them disappear, his fangs sliding back in and his eyes returning to normal. He had been very confused by the way Mavis reacted when he told her why he kissed her. What had she wanted him to say? Eider sighed. Girls made no sense to him. But he remembered what he did whenever Mira got mad at him for seemingly no reason, and thought that the same tactic might work on Mavis. He ran to the store to buy flowers.

(btw I watched Zootopia again last night so if you want to start that we can)

Mavis sighed as they wheeled her to the surgery room. After waiting a half hour they took her in for the surgery. Soon the world faded black and the sergeons began.


Sam looked at Liam,"Dude If I have to go through that again. Im gonna have a seizure. Honestly. Epilepsy's crap. I hate it." He fixed his fringe and followed as they walked to Amys place.
