Kodi saw the fist coming and he shifted his hand into a bear claw, grabbing his fist and looking at him. "Your reign of assassinations are over..." He spoke as he pulled the handcuffs back up and set one set on the hand he was currently holding in his bear claw. He growled and moved Jackal, trying to get his hand behind his back. He eventually shifted his hand back to normal and placed the other end of the handcuff on Jackal's other hand. He looked at him. "Ready to go, murderer?" He asked him with his eyes narrowed, grabbing his arm, planning to drag him away.

Jackal huffed in surprise when his well-aimed punch was stopped by the other man. For a moment, an expression of shock crossed his face when he saw that it wasn't even a hand - it was a bear's paw. So, this guy wasn't just some ordinary human looking to serve some justice.

With both cuffs on his wrists, Jackal was suddenly regretting taking his armour off so soon. He could see it out of the corner of his eye - laying out on his bed, waiting to be put away. His knife was in that armour. Well, he'd just have to improvise.

"I'm not going anywhere with you," he growled in response, a sudden look of pure concentration and determination across his features as he started to channel his abilities. It was always difficult against other superhumans - and this man was certainly no normal human - but maybe if he tried hard enough, he could manipulate the air around the man's throat to suffocate him. He most certainly wouldn't be able to kill him this way - he had used his abilities far too much tonight already - but maybe he could at least incapacitate him.

Kodi grinned as he enjoyed Jackal's surprised expression at the sudden sight of a bear claw where a man's hand once was. He then knew that he knew that he was not just some human who was seeking justice but actually a superhuman. He saw the regret on his face when he realized that perhaps he took off his armor a little too soon. Soon he felt himself beginning to slightly suffocate and he growled weakly now at Jackal, clawing at his neck. He knew he would not be able to escape the hand cuffs so he began to back up onto the balcony to get some fresh air.

He didn't loosen the pressure around his neck, even as the other man backed out of the bedroom and onto the balcony to get to the fresh air. But Jackal couldn't carry on using his powers - it was slowly draining his own energy, and he needed to reserve his abilities as he'd surely need to use them again soon. At least he'd bought himself a little bit of time to devise an escape plan.

Jackal shuffled backwards as quickly as he could, over to his bed where his armour lay. He managed to pull his knife out of its sheath - it would be pretty difficult to use with the handcuffs on, but it was better than nothing. Perhaps he'd get lucky.

Next, he made his way over to the large bedroom window. This was the tricky part; trying to open it with one hand while holding a knife in the other - all while cuffed. At least, with his back facing the window, he would be able to see when his adversary came back into the room - and surely he would be back in here soon, because Jackal had stopped using his powers to suffocate him now.

Kodi began to cough as he felt the suffocation began to stop and he quickly took in plenty of deep breaths to bring his amount of oxygen back into his body. He knew Jackal could not escape the cuffs without the key that Kodi held so he took his time in recuperating out on the balcony. He turned and walked back into the room and he watched Jackal. "Trying to escape?" He asked as he looked at him. "If I were you, I would just come with me and go to the prison easily..." He spoke, hand on his hip as he watched him. He was ready to shift into any form to achieve his goal.

Jackal was pleasantly surprised by how long it took Kodi to return to the room. It gave him enough time to blindly fiddle around with the handle on the large window, all while keeping his eyes on the door to see when the other man returned.

He was sitting on the windowsill when Kodi came back, glaring across the room at him. "You really think a prison would hold me?" Jackal answered, raising an eyebrow. When he had the energy, Jackal was quite the escape artist. He'd surely be able to shadowstep his way out of confinement - shame he couldn't do that to the handcuffs, though.

Jackal didn't wait for a response - he needed to get out of here before Kodi could do any more tricks. He leaned backwards, nudging the unlocked window open with his back and shoulders. "Adiós!" he said with a wink, before rolling backwards out the open window.

Before he hit the ground - and it was a long drop - Jackal teleported into the shadows across the street. Unfortunately, he was all out of juice now - he wouldn't be able to use his abilities again until he got some rest. Now it was simply a matter of finding someplace he could hide from Kodi, and someone who could get these damn handcuffs off of him.

Kodi looked at him as Jackal asked the question, obviously rhetorical. He huffed and approached him when he saw him on the windowsill. He knew that the prison where he would be taking him would be able to hold him because they would be able to control his abilities and sedate him. He huffed when Jackal went out the window and he growled. He shifted into an eagle and leapt out the window. He knew if he found where Jackal had entered the shadow he could follow him just like he did before but now it was time to find where he had entered. He soared through the skies, looking for Jackal. He knew he would be weak because he had used so many of his abilities and his armor was back at his home. Kodi soon circled back to Jackals place and looked around, gather evidence and getting rid of all of the things Jackal could possibly use to wreak havoc when he eventually circled back to his place, thinking Kodi was gone.

From across the street, Jackal looked up at his apartment - just in time to see an eagle flying out of the open window. He might have been able to escape for now, but Kodi still had a serious advantage over him. Jackal probably wouldn't be able to hide for long.

Tired, Jackal emerged from the shadows for the last time. He needed to get these handcuffs off - and he had contacts, although they all lived a fair distance away from him. He had a long night of walking ahead of him. Luckily the streets were mostly empty at this hour, and whenever he did see someone approaching, he would duck into an alleyway to avoid them. Nothing screamed 'suspicious' like a man in cuffs with a knife in his hand.

His weariness had been him a bit anxious now - he was constantly checking the sky, or glancing over his shoulder, or turning round at every noise he heard. After around thirty minutes, he was too worn out to continue walking. He'd used his abilities far too much - not just tonight, but all week. It had been a busy one. He'd definitely overexerted his powers lately.

Stepping into a dark alley, Jackal headed to the far wall. Physically and mentally drained, he slid down the wall and sat on the cold ground - not exactly comfortable with his hands still behind his back, but he was too exhausted to care. He watched the entrance to the alley through tired, half-lidded eyes, and continued to keep a loose grip on the knife. Not that he'd be able to put up much of a fight if Kodi appeared again.

Once Kodi had acquired everything that he could possibly acquire from Jackal's hideout he stopped by his own home and dropped everything off. He returned to Jackal's home and bugged the place, placing cameras and mics and such around. He then turned around and shifted to a dog, sniffing along the ground as he tried to track Jackal's scent. He soon found the man laying in the dark alley and he approached him. He grabbed the knife in his jaws and tossed it aside, looking at Jackal. He shifted human. "Ready to go to the prison now?" He asked him curiously.

Despite his best efforts to keep his eyes open and remain alert, Jackal was on the verge of falling asleep when he suddenly heard something sniffing along the ground at the opposite end of the alleyway. He peered into the darkness, making out the shape of a dog, which was approaching him. He let out a quiet sigh, already knowing that it wasn't just some stray animal.

Jackal didn't protest when Kodi took the knife out of his loose grip, and looked on with jaded eyes as he shifted back into his human form. "Not really," he answered, although it was clear that he wasn't going to be attempting to get away this time.
