Wenri rolled her eyes and started trotting away to find a trail.

Alek followed her, but soon slowed, and then stopped, his nose working, searching for the scent he'd only caught a slight glance of.

Wenri turned back, looked at him. "What is it?" she asked softly.

Alek sniffed, "Something, a familiar scent, but I only caught a whiff of it, so I couldn't quite figure out what it was." he told her.

[Shellpepper]

Wenri sniffed the air. "Well, find it," she said.

Alek chuckled a little as he sniiffed the air, and then he caught it again, "Get behind me Wenri." he said softly as he looked up into the trees, "You are out of your area." he said softly, with a low growl. He could smell him, and knew he was up in the trees, but he wasn't sure where he was just yet.Until he heard the soft thump as the large elf landed and approached them, stave in hand. Fen studied the pair, "Alek, and... Wenri." he said as he studied the female wolf, "You are far from pack lands as well, not surprising for you Alek, but for that one it is." he said as he looked down at them with interest.

Wenri blinked her golden eyes and her expression turned into a hardened look of distrust. She did not step behind Alek, but rather, squared up to the elf who dropped from the trees. She was surprised that she didn't recognize the scent herself. Though, of course, she wouldn't have ever known the elf by name. As such, she failed to completely hide her surprise when the elf knew their names. "Spy," she said, her fur bristling slightly.

Fen watched Wenri and chuckled softly, "I'm not on pack territory. Nor are you, and it's not hard to know the wolves names." he said as he looked at her, not feeling threatened by her in the least, "Why are you so far from the, relative safety, of your pack?" he questioned her.

Wenri's gaze did not falter, and her posture remained on guard. "We have been... scouting," she lied. Wenri hadn't ever developed much skill with lying on the spot. Of course, sometimes she was more successful than others, but her heart was simply too honest and open for deception. Still, admitting to Fen that they'd been playing seemed unnecessarily foolish. She glanced in Alek's direction. "These are dangerous times, it seems. No matter on which side of the line we stand."

Alek looked at her, he smiled lightly, "Wenri, Fen is much less likely to kill me then any of the pack wolves." he said softly. Fen watched them, "I don't care what you are doing." he said softly, "I am out here on a mission. That does not involve you two." he reassured them.
