"Really?" He asked, looking up at him, features soft and full of surprise.
Lindal was shocked by what Sam had said, his attention leaving the tv screen

"Yeah. You haven't done anything wrong apart from an innocent prank and all kids like pulling pranks so that doesn't count." Sam said with a shrug of his shoulders. "You're much better than I was at your age."

"My daddy always told me that you were special." He said, putting his now empty plate down. "I think you're special because you're nicer than any other human, ever." Lindal said, head still tilted upwards, eyes full of compassionate wonder.

"Awe, that's so sweet." Sam said, now smiling wider although he knew that Lucifer probably meant he was special because he was the chosen vessel for him but still, it was sweet.

Lindal returned his gaze to the screen, watching intently, smiling warmly. He pressed closer to Sam, feeling safe and happy.

Sam kept his arm around Lindal, completely ignoring the fact that there were dirty dishes sitting on the table. It was one of his pet hates.

Lindal continued to watch, oblivious to Sam going against his own pet hate for him. He was unaware of a lot of things, unknowing an innocent.

"When do you think your dad's going to get back?" Sam asked after a while of wondering. It seemed like Lucifer really wanted to keep Lindal safe and he doubted that him and Dean were high on Lucifer's trust list.

"I don't know. He's probably too busy with Crowley at the moment."Lindal shrugged. "I don't want him to come back though." He admitted.

"Why not?" Sam asked, although he already had a mental list of possible reasons why. "Well Lindal, you can stay here for as long as you want."
