(I've been fascinated with it since I was little. I used to call it the Ghost Ship whenever it was on TV, but that was when I was like... 2 xD)

"Be happy for you life. After all I've been through with you, your life is so much better than a royal life. It's full of adventure and treachery.... magic and beauty..." she suddenly trailed off, turning around for a moment. "You know how I told you that I was happy for you to take me away?" she asked, her arm holding the other by her side.

(Me too; whenever they had a story about it in my school literature book I freaked out 8D)

Elton blinked. He was grateful for his life; loved every moment of it, especially since he had captured her. It was filled with adventure, magic and beauty... And of course, treachery. Most people would think that royal life is better than mine, and she - the one who has both lives - chooses the life on the run. Many people, he was sure, would call her crazy. It made him smile.

"Yes," he replied slowly. "What about it?" He remembered how happy he had felt when she had first said this; it had made him feel less guilty about what he had done, especially since he had enjoyed her company.

(Yes! I now have 69% of Rome rebuilt in my game! Hah! xD)

"Well... I keep thinking about how people think their lives are amazing simply because they have a lot of money. I have to disagree. I'm glad I have a horse, I'm glad I have clothing that doesn't involve corsets, and I'm glad that I have... you," she whispered, turning around. She was smiling brightly, and her eyes lit up in the sunset over the city.

Elton smiled, in complete agreement in what she said. He came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her shoulders, kissing her cheek. "I'm grateful to have you also," he murmured, his gaze drifting over to the sunset in front of them. He was grateful for life as she was; money was the least importance for him. I'm the luckiest man alive to have Kateliana.

(I've spent so much money on the city, and I'm almost 3/4 of the way there xD)

Kateliana leaned her head against his, closing her eyes and letting out a deep breath. This is what life is all about... she thought to herself. "You know, maybe one day we could travel to Rome. See the Colloseum, maybe take a gondola ride in the river..." Kateliana continued to fantasize about the marvelous city. She had heard stories and seen paintings from travelers on the magnificent city. There were so many huge buildings, far larger than her home kingdom.

"When all this is over, I'll take you everywhere you like," Elton promised, his voice soft. He had been to Rome - been to every part of Italy during his days of travel. I'll do anything to keep you happy, he wanted to say, but he kept it to himself. But after all of it was over... he knew they would have no future together. She would go to rule Fortuna, after her father's death, and he would live his life by himself; as he had for so many years.

But I can't - won't try and convince her otherwise. He wouldn't attempt to guilt her into staying with him, and he knew she couldn't. She had a whole kingdom that needed her.

(Sorry I haven't been posting. My teachers are piling stuff on me right before Thanksgiving x___x;)

"I'd like that," Kateliana whispered as she stared out into the sunset. She kept thinking of going to the beautiful city, however she kept thinking how she wouldn't be able to go after it was all over. "Elton, what's going to happen when we go back to Fortuna? What if... what if I don't want to be the queen?" she asked, biting her lip. She didn't want to be stuck in the kingdom because she was forced to rule. It would make her unhappy, and even if she could keep Elton with her, she wouldn't be able to have another adventure like the one she was living with him.

(Omg the views says 1912, the date that Titanic sank... -insert Titanic Nerd here- xD)

Elton hesitated when she asked that question. He wasn't sure what to say to that question; If I tell her that I... won't be going back... He drew back, taking a few steps away from her, a lost look in his eyes. "Kateliana..." His voice failed on him, and he hesitated again. "I'm not sure." He refused to worry her with the thoughts that he wasn't going to stay when she was queen; she had enough to think about as it was. "But whatever you do, I'm sure you'll always have someone with you that cares about you." His voice came out gently as he insinuated that she would marry someone else when she took the throne. Because I couldn't and wouln't become the king.

"Like you?" she asked, breaking away from him for a moment and staring at him. Her eyes showed pain, as if she knew that something was going to happen. I don't want to lose him. He and Leonardo are one of the few people that actually care... she thought to herself. "You know Elton, maybe this whole queen of the land isn't something that I'm supposed to do. What if it's somebody else's job? I want to be the woman who saves people from the threat, not the person who stays in the castle all day. I want to be the hero..." Kateliana trailed off after she finished her last sentence. She could imagine herself racing to battle on her horse with a sword in her hand. It was something she had thought of as a child, but always pictured a male knight. She wanted to be the female to charge into battle.
But I can do be the female knight. I can save the people from danger, and race to victory with my army behind me.

(Pfft. Listening to epic music is totally being my inspiration right now xD)

Elton hesitated. How could he possibly explain to her that he wouldn't be there for her if she took her rightful role as queen? I wish I could always be there for her. But it was no use falsely deluding himself; the truth hurt. "I don't know," he whispered, voice disguising the pain he felt inside. He refused to say it outright that they wouldn't see each other after she took the throne; it would hurt her - and him too much.

"But you don't have any other siblings to become queen." His voice was thoughtful as he stared at the roof from across the street. He watched as a crow hopped from one gutter to the next, unconsciously admiring its grace as it took flight again. "Being the queen will make you a hero, though," he said gently. "You can change the lives of many people." He feared that she was rejecting the thought only because she wanted to stay with him.
