Elton kissed Kateliana's cheek, smiling slightly. "You won't fall into the water," he promised. He wouldn't let her jump until the boat was directly under them. As the sailboat approached them, Elton nodded. "I'll go first, and help you down." At Enker's signal, he released her hand from his grasp, and leapt lightly onto the sailboat. The boat was so large that it barely swayed as he landed. Silently he reached up his hand for Kateliana to take it. "Come on; I'll help you." He smiled encouragingly, knowing that she would be afraid to fall into the freezing water underneath them.

Marcel padded over to them, watching for a moment as they organized themselves to get down onto the other boat. His gaze, however, wandered after a few moments. He looked around the ship, smiling sadly. He felt almost... regret. This would be the last time, hopefully, that he would be on a pirate ship. It wasn't that he would miss this one in specific; it was the fact that he would never be part of a crew again. The job had never been a very pleasant one, but he had always done it. It shall be odd once I leave it all.

Kateliana watched as he landed swiftly on the boat. She glanced over the edge of the ship and felt somewhat afraid to jump when there was still space between both ships. She took her gaze away from the water and looked at Elton. She began to feel much more confident when she looked at him, and decided to keep her head up. She took his hand and jumped from the large pirate ship to the sailboat. Kateliana let out a sigh of relief when she felt herself land on wooden surface rather than the water below.

Daelen followed next, watching his parents jump onto the boat. He felt happy that the boat had a wide deck, and he jumped quickly onto it beside his parents. He blinked for a moment when he landed, but then looked up to see his sister waiting for Marcel. Typical, she's gone fond of that boy ever since we first met him, he thought as he rolled his eyes.

Allegra stood at the edge of the ship and looked back to see Marcel glancing around the ship. She felt herself make some sympathy towards him, but knew that he would be just fine with them. "Come on," she called to him, then jumped onto the boat beside the rest of her family.

Marcel only looked over once everyone was on the boat. He silently took off his hat, in a farewell as he nodded to the ship. It wasn't his farewell to the ship; it was of this life. Without another glance, he turned towards them, and jumped down as well, looking around the sailboat with a look of happiness. It was like a miniature pirate ship, and he knew that he would be able to help the man out as they sailed back to the coast. He wasn't exactly sure where they were going; just knew that he was leaving behind this life. And if they don't want me to come with them when we reach port, then I'll travel North, and find another job. He wanted a stable future now; didn't want to go bouncing from one ship to another.

When they were all aboard, Elton nodded to Enker. He watched the ship warily as they sailed off, almost expecting the pirates to come out and start firing cannons on them. Secretly, he didn't think that they would waste their ammunition on them; they weren't so useful. Nor were they such a great loss. Sure, they were excited about having Kateliana, but they would just find someone else.

"Where to?" Enker asked, eyes on the deep waters in front.

"The port," Elton replied. "But not the same one; if the pirates wake up and find her gone, they will want to go back and search that place first."

Enker nodded. Elton's reasoning was rational. "The next port is farther, though," he warned. "Might take all night of sailing, and then some."

"Will we be there by morning?"

"Yes."

Elton smiled slightly, knowing this was the best choice. He wasn't going to risk being caught again.

(I thought it would be cool to have more scenes on the boat, instead of going back onto land ^^)

Kateliana felt herself let out a sigh as she knew that they were going to stay on the ship for a much longer time. She knew that it wouldn't be safe to get back to the port that the pirates took her from, but it would take much longer to get to Fortuna. She walked up to Elton and hugged him, putting her head on his shoulder and closing her eyes. She took in a deep breath, then let out a yawn. She was tired, but wanted to try and stay up so that she could be with Elton for most of the trip.

Allegra and Daelen both ran around the sailboat, looking around every little crevice and inch of the ship to see the perfect hiding places. "We could play hide and go seek in this boat!" Allegra exclaimed, her voice full of excitement. She felt like running around to play instead of acting like an adult, and her brother seemed to agree. They were still children, after all, and wouldn't mind playing some games while they were on the ship.

Elton smiled as she hugged him, and put his arms around her. He was so grateful that he had gotten a ride to get there to save her. If he had been too late... And to think I didn't have any hope to ever see her again... He felt incredibly lucky; it was quite unbelievable that he had lucked out so much. "You're tired," he murmured, as he saw her yawn. "Why don't you get some sleep?" They would, after all, have to travel to Fortuna the next day after arriving in the port. It wouldn't do much good for her to be exhausted.

Marcel watched them run about for a while, then retired to the front of the boat, where he sat down and watched the water as it rippled from the wind. It was a sight he was used to, yet it never got old to watch the water. Silently he put his head on his hands, his hat grasped tightly in his outstretched fingers. He wasn't sure of his future, and it worried him the more he thought about it.

Kateliana mumbled unintelligently, somewhat showing that she did not want to go to sleep. She lifted her head and looked up at his, leaning up on her toes to kiss himlightly. "But I don't want to. I just got you back to me," she whispered to him. Her eyelids seemed to be lowering, however. "I don't want to go back into a ship, and would much rather stay out here under the stars," she mumbled, glancing up at the thousands of stars in the sky. She found it beautiful to see so many of them out, as the lights from the houses and cities allowed them to see the night sky much clearer.

Allegra hid for a while as her brother tried to find him. She continued to move hiding spots to make sure that he didn't find her, but then when she was about to hide by a part of the bow, she noticed that Marcel was sitting alone on the front of the sailboat. She looked around for a minute to make sure that her brother was nowhere on th top deck of the ship, then sat down next to him. "Hey, you want to join? We have a game going on, and you seem to be a loner," she muttered to him, her eyes wide with concern. She knew that something must have been bothering him to be so far away from everybody else.

Elton looked up at the sky as well, seeing the millions of stars that were a-glow. They, along with the moon, illuminated the sky above. It was almost a new moon, and the mere sliver of it peeked out behind the few wispy clouds that lingered in front of it. She was tired, he could tell. Smiling slightly, he took her hand in his, idly tracing circles along her soft skin. "I thought I had lost you," he murmured, sighing. It was true; while he was still on shore, trying to get a lift, he had begun to think that he would never see her again. What would have happened to her then? He shuddered to think.

Marcel glanced over at her as she sat down beside him, and shook his head. "No thanks," he said slowly. He had never actually taken part of a 'game'; his childhood before taking to ships had been cruel and unhappy. As he stared down at the water, he sighed. "Where are you headed after we arrive in the harbor?" he asked finally, his voice casual as he fingered the hat between his hands. It was rough and worn, but he knew he would never be able to give it up.

(Sorry I haven't been on. This is the time where everything is going to be uber-busy until Friday. After my Finals I'll have absolutly NOTHING for a four day weekend! 8D)

Kateliana glanced over at him and smiled, then leaned against him as she looked back up at the stairs. The beautiful starlit sky made her feel almost content, if it weren't for her just getting off of a pirate ship. "It is a good thing that this man was so nice to take you," she whispered, letting out a small yawn. She felt like going to sleep on a nice bed, but didn't want to leave him for such a peaceful moment. The water was fairly calm, like the flow of glass along a window. "Elton," Kateliana suddenly muttered, glancing up at him. "If I were to perhaps go to sleep , would you come with?"

"Back to our home in Fortuna. I think my mother kept saying about getting a different house rather than the castle because she wants us to have our own rooms. Our uncle is now the king and it's up to him whether he wants to give us rooms in the castle," Allegra explained, letting out a few giggles of laughter. "You want to come with us? I'm sure that you can find yourself a job or something in the castle, and you could get your own room," she suggested, looked over at him and smiling brightly at him.

"I would love it if you did," Kateliana whispered to him, her cheeks blushing as she felt his hand touch her face. She took a deep breath for a moment, thinking if Elton really would end up falling asleep. He probably won't, she thought to herself as she smiled inwardly. "I'm going to have to make sure that the children at least get some sleep too. Are there any actual beds on this boat? Is there bunks for them?" she asked, knowing that the kids were probably tired too.

Allegro smiled widely and clapped her hands in excitement. "This will be awesome! You could always just act like a son to my parents. They wouldn't mind taking care of you. My mom always loved being able to have kids like us. I know that she is still young, but if the witches didn't give us that stupid potion we would still be infants..." she muttered, then suddenly trailed off. She wouldn't want to tell him that she was technically not even that old compared to him.

(Yay! And by then I'll be back in the US, and there will be no time difference )

Elton smiled. "Would you like me to?" he asked, tipping his head to one side as he gazed down at her. She definitely looked tired, he mused. He reached down and gently pushed a strand of hair out of her face, then stroked her cheek. He had to admit that he felt tired as well, but didn't dare close his eyes. What if the pirates returned? Though it wasn't necessary, he felt like he needed to keep watch. And I can't sleep when the children are running around... He had a lot of responsibility, though it didn't bother him. Only a few hours ago, he had thought that he would never see any of them again. Now he felt sure that they would stay with him forever; he wouldn't let anything bad happen to them ever.

Marcel blinked, considering it. What could I work as, though? The only thing he knew of was living out at sea. I can't read or write.. he thought miserably. What could I possibly work as to get enough money? He inwardly sighed, weighing the pros and cons for the proposition. After a few moments, he merely shrugged. "Sure," he said finally, forcing a smile. He figured that he might as well give it a try.
