(I know! It's quite fascinating. My family on my mom's side are all quite religious... We're all catholic, though some more than others... Anyway, my grandparents are almost.... fanatic about it. D: They go to church every day XD)
Marcel watched them hugging, and smiled slightly. It was a sad smile, really. He felt longing that his mother would come and find him one day... But he knew that his fantasy would never become reality; his birth had been an accident, and had vexed his mother, as she had rubbed in his face all those years... He had finally left her after nine years of putting up with her constant picking over him. The worst part had been that she had never loved him; never cared at all about his well-being. Maybe somewhere.. deep down in her heart, there is something she feels towards me. He bit his lip, knowing that this wasn't true. It had never been the truth, and never would be.
As Daelen acknowledged him as the one in charge of her rescue, he shrugged, as if to say it hadn't been any trouble. "Really, it was nothing," he said humbly. "I am glad to have helped you." He smiled slightly as Allegra hugged him, feeling warm inside. It was an unknown feeling for him to be wanted. When Kateliana asked him how they were to escape, he pulled away from the girl's grasp, and looked thoughtful. "Everyone on board is out drunk," he replied. "Whenever we stop at a port, they always stock up on liquor..." he explained. "The problem I see is how we will get off of the boat." It was too far away to swim back, and there weren't many boats around that would be willing to help.
