He sighed. "That's sad."

As they approached the throne room, he took a deep breath and carefully listened to Cinder's words.

"Nervous? Why would I be nervous?" He laughed a little then gulped. "Alright, I am, but I'll make sure I don't show it."

Cinder sighs, thinking that something was going to go awful in there, as the doors slowly open before them, two armored owls at each side of the entrance, as they both practically glared at both phoenixes, specially at Inferno.

Two snowy owls sat in two columns at the far end of the room, next to one another.
Presumably king and queen.
Cinder walks before them, and bows immediately, hoping Inferno would do the same, as the gates close behind their backs.
Many eyes were fixed on the two phoenixes, from guardians to the king and queen's scribes.
How uncomfortable.

He was bewildered by the armored owls strong glares. Good grief, lighten up! He thought, suddenly realizing he was still by the gate, and Cinder had already bowed to the king and queen.

He quickly skittered up to their thrones, and bowed as well.

Then he looked up, and smiled at the king, then the queen. Hoping to make a good impression.

Suddenly aware of all the eyes on them he grew extremely uncomfortable. "May I ask if there is a problem, with me?" He asked promptly, looking around.

Cinder's about to give a worried look to Inferno, but she's stopped by the sound of the monarch's loud voice, to which she flinches, shutting her eyes.

"Be silent, stranger!"

The male one calls out, annoyed by Inferno's lack of manners, as the king and queen's court erupts into murmurs and chattering, but the queen's glare is enough to silence them all shortly after.

"And you, Cinder, I expected more of a friend of yours, than to disturb the silence and peace of my court with a foolish question.
Or does he happen to be a love interest...?"

"N-no, your majesty."

"I see, so the gods have finally decided to free you from your solitude.
Interesting..."

There's silence for a couple of minutes, once again.

Inferno froze for a moment, then lowered his head, alarmed by the harsh response to his simple question.

He almost said "Yes sir" but refrained since he had been commanded to be silent. Besides, if he called the king "Sir", it would probably be considered disrespectful.

He blushed when the queen asked if he was Cinder's love interest, although he wasn't quite sure why. It wasn't the strangest thing to ask, he supposed.

Infernoe kept his eyes lowered, wondering what was going to happen next.

The monarch sighsin annoyance.

"...Take our guests to their chambers, Nerissa, I will not have them until the male one has remembered how to behave in a court."

The silence is broken with his voice, once again.

"Yes, sire."

One of the guards speaks up with a female voice, as she bows slightly, the gates opening once again as the she-guard motions them to leave.

"I-I apologize your majesty, I promise it will not happen again..."

Cinder says, apologetically, as she heads out, motioning Inferno to follow.

(I honestly didn't know what I was aiming for when I wrote the love interest thing, I wanted it, but didn't write it in the best moment.
Writing in classes is hard, so excuse me if all of this is meh.

Inferno frowned at the way the monarch talked about him.

He opened his beak, wanting so badly to say quite a few things to the king and queen.

But he managed to bite his tongue and follow Cinder.

He sighed, then suddenly lifted his head, and glared at the guards by the gate before slipping out.

(Its not meh at all! You did great)

Cinder sighs and shakes her head as she walks along with the guard, Inferno by her side, remaining silent.

She was probably unhappy with how bad things had turned out.

It had gone worse than what she had expected.

"Well, Cinder. I don't have that much to say about your friends. He muttered, with a small smirk.
