Inferno's eyes widened. "No! And leave you here? What if someone bad happens?" He hissed back, as quietly as he could, though loud enough for Cinder to catch what he said.

He did, however, prepare for flight, just in case. If something bad did happen, it's not like I would be much help, though. He thought unhappily.

She's just about to say something like:
'Do it!'
Before she's surprised by one of the owls beggining the battle, to which luckily, she reacts in time, her claw grasping the owl's, as she growls and throws him off with force against a wall, either injuring him badly, or sending him into unconsciousness.

She then turns to the rest, her whole body lighting up into flames, as they all charge against her, in unison.

Cinder parries one of the owls' attacks, driving her claw to his back, and forcing him to the ground, pressuring his back until there was a loud 'crack', and he didn't move anymore.

The next of her attackers comes from the side, and she dodges both of his claws, soon sending her scorching wing against his helmet, her limb practically tackling him, and knocking him out, leaving severe burn marks around the owl's head and chest area.

'Only half remaining'

She thinks, resuming the combat.

The fourth tries something different, and tries to attack Cinder aerially, to which she pays him back with the same coin, taking off into the room's ceiling, higher than the owl, only to come back down on top of him, grasping the bird of prey and diving down to the ground, landing, bringing her whole weight on him, probably killing him in the process.

The other two met the most painful death.
With a flap of her wings, Cinder sends out a wave of fiery flames, which scorched the two withered birds alive, killing them instantly, but painfully.

Cinder remains a couple of feet away from Inferno, panting vigorously, her back turned to her partner, flames burning brightly.

It was apparently over.

(Phew!
That took a while!

Inferno cowered behind Cinder, ready to take off if needed.

Wow, she knows what she's doing. He thought, watching his teammate fight off the owls in awe.

Every now and then he would gasp, and close his eyes, fearing the worst. But Cinder kept defeating them.

When she turned to face him, all the owls felt with, he smiled and breathed out a sigh in relief.

"That was amazing. If I'm ever half as good at fighting like that, I'll be happy."

(Wow, that was awesome! And yup, I recognize them!)

Cinder shook her head, smiling.
Feeling lightheaded, probably from how tired she was.

"I guess you will."

She laughs lightly, looking ahead.

"We have to find the others, Inferno.
Go ahead,
I-Im right behind you."

Cinder says, motioning her partner to continue, as she folded her wings to her side.

Inferno nodded, realizing she wanted him to go first. "A-alright." He stuttered, slowly walking forward, afraid something would jump on them any second.

"H-hello?" He called out again, hoping to see someone more friendly come out this time. "Your majesties? Guards?"

Off in the distance, something could be heard, faintly.
It was the sound of battle claws clashing against one another.
That was enough for Cinder to take off, flying past Inferno.

"Hurry, they probably need us!"

She calls out, flying through the hallways and corridors of the Great Tree.

He quickly went into action, flying down the tree's hall, after his partner. They need her, not me. I'll be no help at all." Still he followed as fast as he could, since Cinder had asked him to. "I hope they're alright!"

Cinder hastens her flight, going as fast as she could, the sounds of battle only growing louder and louder as they approached them.

Soon, they arrive at what seems to be the main hall, and there the conflict stood.
The monarchs, along with several of their guards fought off dozens of the owls Cinder had fought off earlier.

"Inferno, stay here, I'll be right back!"

Cinder says, flying over to the fight, looking to help.

(What if Inferno suddenly had a surge of bravery and went in?
Probably getting lightly hurt and, Idk I just thought it'd be worth watching, just an idea!)

Inferno huffed. "Um, no." He responded, tired of feeling useless, and not helping at all.

"I want to help!" He watched Cinder enter the war, waiting for a good time to start fighting.

(Sure! Maybe you would want to roleplay the owl he's fighting? I'm not the best at roleplaying fights, so I apologize in advance if it's not so good)

Cinder, too focused on what lied ahead, wasn't able to hear Inferno, assuming he'd obeyed her command, as she enters the crowds of fighting birds, and losing herself among them.

Just as Inferno's about to enter the conflict, an owl lands abruptly, and fiercely before him, blocking away from the others.
He screeches loudly at the inexperienced phoenix, spreading it's wings slightly, bracing it's battle claws for combat, back hunched, as he drags one of the blades against the other, making the iron hiss.
