She cocked her head in a confused way "w-whats a mate?" She asked. Her fathers ruff tone didn't really scare her it just annoyed her, she hasn't done anything in her eyes to deserve it but she kept her cool. And of coarse she knew what a mate was she just wished they would leave her alone at this moment so she said that hoping the conversation would end quicker.

He frowned, ignoring Pepper. "Raelynn, you know exactly what a mate is, don't play dumb with me please." He took a deep, shaky breath, and looked at the ground. "She's still a nestling and she's already falling in love! A nestling! That's too young, Pepper, too young. And with a barn owl!" Elliot couldn't stand this anymore. He turned away, feeling his eyes water. What was he supposed to do?
