I opened my beak to say no, but then closed it. I really couldn't do much myself, so it made sense to let him take a look. I hesitated then nodded. "Ok,just...be careful." I shuffled closer and gingerly held my hurt wing out to make it easier for him to inspect.

Tybalt jolted awake, Excitment glittering in his gaze. He opened his wings and looked at his darkened feathers, Then looked at Aspen's creamy, Beautiful coat. He ran to the middle of the hollow, Flapping his wings and screeching quietly. "Rise and shine everyone! It's branching day!" The owl said, Hardly able to keep still, He's gotten bigger, though not as big as his parents. "C'mon everyone!!!" He leaped onto his father, Cooeing. "Daaaadddd! Help me wake everyone up!"

((Owls start to fledge at the age of 35 I think..
But maybe we can bump the age up to around 40..?))

Willow, fluffed, standing up and smiling at her chicks. "Are you all excited?" She chirped happily.

He stood up, stretching his wings. "Yes, Ty, I know." He grumbled, fluffing his feathers. His gaze focused on Tybalt's dark brown feathers. He glared at his brother. "Lucky."

(Actually, I believe they completely leave and fly at around age 40 days)

Breeze yawned,"Ugh, Tybalt." she mumbled as she got up. Rubbing her eyes, she quickly noticed a few feathers on her wing,"T-Tybalt!" she shouted,"W-We have feathers!" Then she took a glimpse at Aspen,"Aspen, those wings are amazing!"

Aspen stretched out his wing once more, to look at it himself. "Why, thank you Breeze. I'm rather proud of them, if I do say so myself."

He nodded, looking at the three eggs in the nest. "I know!! They should be hatching soon." he said, his voice shaking with excitement.

Breeze grinned. But that grin soon became a frown as she stared at her own wings. "All I have is plain hazel..." she said sadly,"And you guys have dark brown, and white!" At this moment, Breeze wanted to take off her wings like a jacket, but she knew she was only going to have these wings, and that was all she had.

"It's going to be amazing Elliot." she sighed as she stared at the 3 eggs. Words could not express how content Pepper was, but one thing she knew was that she was happy.

Charcoal was busy pecking his way out of the egg, very busy, very busy. There was a 'crack' noise and he saw a burst of light still busy, he kept on trying to get his way out of the egg.

Willow sighed happily as she watched her chicks study their new feathers. They're so excited. Suddenly she felt a pang of sadness, and sat down, her wings drooping.

Aspen stared at Breeze for a moment. "Breeze, what are you talking about? Your feathers are a beautiful color." He patted her back with his wing. "Cheer up, today we are going outside!"

He wrapped his wing around her, leaning his head contentedly against hers. He shivered with excitement and happiness when he heard a faint tapping sound. "Pepper, I think we are about to meet our first chick!"

He tilted his head, Black feathers? Tybalt looked at his deep brown feathers with all of the ginger highlights and the gray speckles on his back. "I love both of your feathers! I don't know why i'm so different though.." He really did like the hazel of Nyra's fathers, or the creamy white of Aspen's. He shook his head and ran to the exit, standing at the edge. "Well? What're we waiting for?" Tybalt looked back at his family, eager to start branching.

Breeze smiled,"Thanks Aspen, I'll try." she said. She really admired the dark brown on Tybalt's wings,"Tybalt, why are you so different?" she asked,"You have the feathers, not us. You should know!"

"We're going to meet our chick!" she squealed as she watched the egg. "Elliot, I-I'm so happy..." she said.

Crack. The sound of an egg. Charcoal fluffed out his puffs of white. Staring at the new world around him. What a wonderful sight, he should've been grateful to be in this beautiful forest. Tons of food, lovely parents, and most importantly, a home.
