Dan squeezed Phil's hand gently and tried to talk, but the tube had pushed his vocal cords apart so he wouldn't be able to talk for several minutes. Instead a tear rolled down his cheek and he looked away from Phil.

Janai looked at dan with worried eyes. She didn't know dan was okay "daddy?" She said softly. Phil held his hand tighter "look at me dan.. please?" He asked

Dan blinked a few times and sighed. He felt bad for having scared Phil, he didn't want Phil to be sad. He especially didn't want to let on that he was scared. He stayed where he was as a couple more tears followed the first.He tried talking again but made no sound.

Janai felt ignored by him. He didn't even aknowlage her. She got off him and grumbled words before going into the bathroom and locking herself in there.

Phil knew Janai didn't understand what was going on. But he had to explain it later to her. His focus was on dan "Dan please. Don't be sad that I'm sad.. I was worried but now I'm not because your okay.. please don't cry" he spoke

Dan sighed and turned back to Phil, wiping his tear-stained cheeks. He snifflef and looked up at Phil. "Phil I-I'm sorry," he managed to whisper, "I knew I shouldn't have gone but I just wanted t make it better for Janai. I was stupid, Phil, and I understand if you never want to see me again." Dan sniffled, turning away from Phil, not wanting to meet his gaze.

Phil looked at Dan "no I'm not leaving you! I should have stopped you from driving.. the road was dangerous and I was to blame." He spoke "we both.. we both wanted was best for Janai.." he spoke "so don't apologise.. please.." he spoke

Dan sniffed, his voice retutning, "No, Phil, I hurt you. I don't deserve someone as sweet and kind and amazing as you are." Dan focused on something across the room in hope tht Pjil wouldn't notice the tears that were flowing down his cheks now

Phil shook his head "no dan you didn't hurt me! I need you in my life.. I care about you and I love you and I can't loose you.. you are like an addiction that won't leave.. please dan.. I need you.."

Janai listened to them.. no one had ever mentioned her. Maybe they don't want her.. dan doesn't want her anymore.. she knew it.. she had a plan.. a big one.. but she couldn't do it now..

Dan gave up. He was sobbing now. "An I need you-you and Janai. Wh-where is she?"

Phil looked at dan "in the bathroom.. she locked herself in there.. doubt she will be comming out anytime soon.. she's pretty upset that I ignored her and she tried to talk to you and I told her to be quiet.." he sighed.
