Minako nodded, knowing Mamoru's words were true. "I know, Mamoru-san. I just wish..........that I could be there for him more. Even though it's been so long, and we barely know each other anymore, I still care for Kunzite. But.........I don't want either of us to get hurt."


"Both are very valid points, Ami-chan. I suppose you're right. Alright, I'll call Usagi later, and ask to talk to Luna." The two had been walking for some time, and had finally come across Hikawa shrine. Rei pushed open the door to her room, smiling softly.

[Prince Endymion]

Mamoru sighed, "Believe me, I do too. He was my guardian for as long as my memories of the past will allow me to remember. Chin up, don't let his confusion get to you. We don't need Usako's best friend and lead guardian be hurt at the same time as him. It would be painful for all four of us. He wants to talk to us so we can help him. We'll figure this out."

Ami followed after Rei, giggling softly, "Now I'm imagining Luna trying to talk on Usagi-chan's home phone. That would be a bit difficult for her!"

[Amethyst The Gem]

"Alright. I'll try my best. But I'm not sure how hard it will be. Can you do me a favor? Keep this between the two of us. Usagi would just become downcast, and Kunzite might distance himself more."


"That would be funny to watch." Rei laughed, seeing it in her mind's eye. Usagi was holding the phone for Luna to speak into, when her parents weren't around of course. "But I meant on Usagi's communicator."

[Prince Endymion]

"Of course I can. We don't want either of those things, Usagi seems fine for now, and we don't want to upset her. And Kunzite's already distant enough. What do you need?" Mamoru asked Minako. It was interesting to be talking to Minako about Usagi and Kunzite, something he felt like he remembered doing in the past. She had the same relationship with Serenity/Usagi as he did with Kunzite. Why he never spoke to the Senshi as much in the past... The only reason he could come to was that interaction was supposed to be forbidden, which should've just been thrown out the window for him the moment he fell for Serenity.

Ami laughed, "Of course you meant on Usagi-chan's communicator! It wouldn't make sense any other way! Who gives their phone to a cat, talking or not?"

Minako took a deep breath to steady herself, then decided to take the plunge. "This is something I've never told anyone. As.....as much as I want to love Kunzite, or anyone really for that matter.....I..........I can't." She said, then continued, "It's a curse, I'm forever destined to put duty over love, and the times I've tried to love, it's only ended in pain. That's why........I can't love him."


Rei was surprised to find more laughter coming from herself. "Although now I do kind of want to see that someday. Luna talking on the phone......how funny...."



(And thus the drama ensues once again.....)

Mamoru was taken aback, however slightly, by Minako's reveal. He made sure Usagi and Kunzite were within view, not wanting to lose them. He stopped and turned to Minako. "I understand you. I can understand you completely. I've felt what you're feeling before. However, I can't imagine how being guardian of love must feel. I can only guess that it must put salt in the wound. You never know where this life may take you, and one can only hope that our second chances, in his case third, will be used for good. To be happy. But listen. Let's hear him out, help him through this. But no matter what, no one said you had to love him. Just because he's here doesn't mean you have to be with him. Usagi and I didn't particularly have to love each other. She was given this second chance just so she can finally be happy. If she had found love elsewhere, then that would have been up to her. I'm not going to tell you you're being selfish or unreasonable or anything like that. If you can't love him, you don't have to. But if you find you want to, then by all means, go ahead. Usagi and I would stand by the two of you no matter what you decide."

"We should try and get her to do so one day!" Ami giggled.

"But that's the problem, Mamoru-san. No one said I have to love him, but I do love him. I have since the first day in the Silver Millennium, just as you have always loved Serenity. I always told Serenity never to pursue her love back then, because it was forbidden, but had those laws not been in place, I would have surely been with Kunzite back then, if he loved me, that is. But now, even though we have the chance to be together, with no laws keeping us apart, fate is still cruel to the goddess of love. And now, I love him more than ever. But my curse makes it impossible........."


"Usagi would probably go for it, and I have a feeling Luna wouldn't mind. Honestly though, this sounds like something Usagi would scheme up. Guess she's rubbing off on us!" Not that Rei minded, she enjoyed the company and antics of her princess, though she did get a little too overboard sometimes.


(All aboard the feels train! We are now leaving the station!)

[Prince Endymion]

Mamoru nodded, listening to Minako's tale. "I can tell you one thing for sure. Kunzite did love you, Minako-san. I'd tell him he should say something to you. That despite the laws, he deserved to be happy, the exact opposite of what he'd tell me about Serenity. He wouldn't do it. He said that his duty was to protect me, and that left no room for much else. I knew Kunzite better than anyone else. I will do everything in my power to help you with this. We're in a new time now, Minako-san. Laws and curses are made to be broken."

"It does! I guess you're right, Rei-chan!" Ami nodded. "I have to say... I am very greatful to Usagi-chan. She was my first friend. If I didn't end up being Sailor Mercury and had never met her, I'm sure I wouldn't be as happy as I am now. And so I don't mind that Usagi-chan's silliness has been 'rubbing off' on me."

(Chop choo!)

[Amethyst The Gem]

"He did love me? All that time? So now.............you're saying that if we both still love each other, we should try and break the curse? That it.......it won't end in pain?" Minako noticed that Usagi and Kunzite were starting to get farther away, and closer to Mamoru's apartment. "We'd better go catch up."



"I can say that the same is true for me. Although Usagi does have her own way of doing things, she's a good friend, and a true one at that. I don't think any of our lives would have been the same without her."


(We can pretend that Usagi was chatting Kunzite's ear off about games and manga XD)

[Prince Endymion]

Mamoru shrugged as he continued walking, expecting that Minako would walk beside him. "He did love you, but his loyalty to me never let him act on any of that. I'm... Not saying anything. This is your love. Your life. I'm not going to tell you what to do. I can only give you whatever guidance I can. There's no telling what the future may hold-" He paused, knowing that wasn't entirely true. He somewhat know what to hopefully expect. "For you two. Things can end well and things can go wrong, you know that well, even if you haven't personally experienced it. Until then, follow your heart. And also your mind. Whatever you think is right, follow it, Minako-san. In this lifetime, you have the chance to do better than you did in the past!"

Ami nodded. She agreed with Rei completely. "We've had some hard times, but it's all been worth it. And she just seems... So happy right now. With all of us and of course Mamoru-san by her side."
