Zagan | Male | Demon

Zagan watched her for a second, before he took in a shakey breath. He let it out after a moment, before pushing her head up, to the point she is forced to look at him. "Elyse.." He started for a second, but right there caught him. Is he really sure to tell his feelings to her? When the moment they crss, he has to give her up? Maybe so, but it's best if she knew what he feels. It's better to know she had love for once, and not die without knowing such thing exist. "....You do not.. know... how much I like you.." He said, his voice barely audible.

she stared at this demon. the demon who had kidnapped her. the demon who know held her in his grasp. she could feel the heat from his hand on her chin. her eyes looked into his. she had no knowledge on why he was a demon. what he had done to deserve a fate like that. her hand shook as she moved it to gently touch his hand, her finger gently touching his forearm. she tried to speak. she looked down her eyes moving away from his. she looked back at him, holding his gaze. the angel could barely understand what he was saying. "i don't." she agreed. her voice nothing but a whisper as she looked at him.

After he long stare, Zagan watched her face after she broke their gaze. Zagan fixed his gaze onto her hand, as it shook. He wanted to ask her if she was okay, but after his confession, he did not speak a word. As if all the oxygen in hos body vanished, and he cannot grasp anymore. Locking his gaze once more with her, and heard her say only two words, he was unsure how to explain to her what he means. He lived long enough as a 'human' to know what the feeling of love was. Unlike him, she did not. She was a angel who was shelter from everything, as they took most emotions away, proclaiming that they are forbidden as a angel. Feeling his chest heavy with pain. He wanted to explain how much. How much he really likes her. But Zagan was dumbfounded. He let out a sigh, mainly frustrated. Frustrated to himself. Why? It was unclear.

the angel watched him, her eyes meeting his for a brief moment before returning to the ground. her eyebrows furrowed as zagan sighed. elyse tried to smile, but found that she couldn't. she returned her gaze to zagan's. the demon who had taken her captive and had represented everything dangerous and bad in the world now felt like the soul protector of elyse. she had come to trust the demon. but there was something that almost held her there. something held her in his arms, something made her want to stay in the feeling of safety. but the angel couldn't determine what it was. whether it was trust or just a strange new feeling, elyse couldn't tell. it scared her. not fear for your life scared. no. it wasn't a terrifying fear, but it was in a way. elyse looked away from zagan as though he could read her thoughts. "zagan. i don't really know, well, much. but i think maybe. i'm not scared of you. or something. i just..." elyse let the sentence trail off.

zagan watched her movements, starting to worry about her. as she seem to drift into thoughts, zagan looked around the area, to keep his mind from wandering. gulping down some air, he looked back at her as she started to speak. "i understand." he murmured, but yet he does not. "we should go, best if we do before something decides to make us their meal." he said, trying to change it now. it is making him worry, and seem to break on her.

elyse nodded as he spoke. she began to slowly move away from zagan, before stopping. elyse wrapped her arms around his neck and buried her head in his chest. elyse held there for a moment, wanting to feel safe for at least a moment longer. the angel moved away from the demon, her wings fluttered as she took a few steps away from zagan, "yeah. that would probably be a good idea." she forced a weak smile before meeting zagan's gaze. the smile she had forced came more natural as she looked at him.

Zagan

Zagan wrapped his arms around her small body, and sighed, going to miss this. The fact that he can be near her. Hold her when she needs it. Sure, it may have been a few days, but those days felt as if he lived in a whole new dimension. Where he did not have to be a demon, fight like one. He could just be himself. Letting go of her as she pulled herself away from him, Zagan noticed her wings flutter. He wanted to touch them but he went against his urge. Stuffing his hands into his pockets, Zagan looked down at her. He gave a small smile back at her and then decided to start leading the way. Deciding to start up a conversation, to try and get her to cheer up. "have you ever met the one almighty?" He asked. Saying God's name is against the law of demons, and quite frankly, he does not think he has the right to call him by his true name.

elyse looked back at the demon. she wanted to run back to the safety she had found. but as zagan began to walk towards the demon side of their small world, elyse felt the familiar sense of dread coming again. she walked next to zagan, her wings fluttering to keep the small angel from falling or tripping on anything. "you mean God?" she asked zagan. "no. i have never met the Father. angels answer prays. that's what i do. or did." elyse paused for a brief second. "but most of my time was spent watching over my human. or roaming the human world. i was the youngest of the angels. i was never assigned anything important or big. that was gabriel or uriel." elyse looked over at zagan. she smiled at him, talking about her brothers brought some happiness to the "doomed" angel.

As he listen to her talk about her father, his mind drifted about the human world. "Have you ever answered a prayer from your human?" He asked her as she finished speaking about her family and her human. "I am sure she has prayed at least once." He said, glancing at her. He walked slow, trying to put as much time between them and the border. He kicked at the dirt, seeing some pebbles skip across the dirt, and land onto a tree root, or in a tiny hole.

"a prayer? yes. but very little prayers. like a little girl wanting a pink bow. or a small child wanting something for christmas. nothing big, like curing cancer. or stopping a car wreck. that is the older angels job. gabriel said he would bring me along to help him but that didn't happen." she murmured the last part before smiling shyly. she looked back at zagan. "prayers are something special from the humans. especially now." elyse watched as some pebbles skidded across the ground. "and yes. my human has prayed many times. but mostly, her prayers are important. big prayers. i'm not suppose to answer them. but when you're the closest angel, sometimes prayers get answered a little faster." elyse smiled wider, proud to have answered and protected her "pet"
