Modern!Laina AU with Agent Lillytiger

[Agent Lilytiger]

Levi took the pan of rolls from Raina and grabbed a couple. He set it down and then dished up other foods onto his plate. He started shoving food into his mouth, savouring each bite. It had been a long while since he had cooked but apparently he still had his touch. He swallowed and laughed. "Apparently we do." He agreed before digging back in.

Raina finally leaned back and stretched a couple hours later. "Ah, yeah. That was excellent." She commented, gathering up her dishes. "I should just have you cook for me." She joked. She waited a moment and then grabbed Levi's dishes as well and took everything to the sink. She started looking for tupperware to put all the leftovers in so that she could get to work on the dishes.

Levi sighed contentedly as he finished his last bite. He chuckled and grinned. "I mean, if you pay me..." He teased, getting up. He was about to collect his dishes when Raina scooped them up. He stepped out of the way and went into the kitchen. He watched Raina as she started searching the cupboards for something. A moment later he figured it out and he grinned. "The cupboard to the left of the sink." He told her.

Raina chuckled and shook her head. "Sorry, not happening. I'm a broke college student, remember?" As he informed her which cupboard the tupperware was in, she sheepishly moved from the one on the other side of the kitchen and started pulling out containers and matching lids.

Levi sighed. "That's right." He said, mockingly dissapointed. He chuckled as Raina moved over to the right cupboard. He went to the table and started bringing the leftover food back to the kitchen, then helped Raina with putting it into containers. A little while later, Levi put away the last clean dish. He looked around and nodded. "Well, I don't know what's supposed to happen now." He said, a bit embarrassed by his lack of knowledge about holidays.

As Levi put away leftovers, Raina did the dishes until everything was finally clean again. She shrugged. "We could go for a walk." She suggested, checking the time, as she'd lost track, although it wasn't like she had an 8 AM class the next morning. "I really don't know either." She muttered. Holidays hadn't been a thing in her family while she was growing up, so she was just about as clueless as he was. "Or we could go sit on the roof."

Levi nodded at Rainas second idea. "Shall we share in an adventure?" He asked, going over to his window and sliding it open. He climbed out onto the fire escape and the offered his hand to Raina to help her through.

Raina smiled. "I like that idea." She followed Levi to the window and took his hand in order to get through it onto the fire escape. She looked at the stairs. "Going up." She said, grabbing the handrail and starting up towards the roof.

Levi grinned and followed Raina up the stairs. The sun was just lowering behind the buildings, casting a red glow over everything. He paused on a landing and turned to look at the red sky. He loved sunsets, it reminded him that there would be a tomorrow. He gave it one more look, then continued to follow Raina up the escape.

Raina pulled herself over the edge of the roof and looked around. It hadn't changed. She walked to the very edge, tempted to get up on the low wall around it. She shook the thought away and once again reminded herself that she would most likely fall several hundred feet to her death if she did that, so instead she just stood there and watched the sunset.
