Raina paused a few yards from the cemetery gate, the uncomfortable feeling in her stomach becoming downright unsettling. She just swallowed and hesitantly approached the yard, hoping that it was just her mind playing tricks on her. She knew at least a few people were watching her, hidden by buildings and curtains, but she just forced herself to ignore it. She swung open the gate and headed towards the back, right corner. She suddenly felt awful as she realized she didn't even remember exactly where Nick's grave was. She walked a couple of rows before she spotted the stone with "Nicholas Allen Murphy" carved into it's surface. She hesitated a moment, then took a deep breath and sat down at the base of the stone. It felt as though time was standing still as she sat there, surrounded by dead people. "H-Hey." She finally whispered, her voice shaking for some reason. She reached out and touched the words carved into the stone. "I'm sorry I haven't visited, but it's hard, living half-way across the country and all. I'm here with Levi- well I left Levi at the house, I wanted to talk to you in private. The rest of the band was here too, they were all on a national tour until about ten days ago. You already know Levi and I are dating, have been for a while, and gosh do I love him. But, we got in a fight, Nick, a really big fight. I was stupid and hurt him really badly. I got hit by a car, broke a bunch of stuff, skull and ribs included. It still hurts if I move wrong or breath too deeply, but I haven't told him that yet. I think my rib is going to hurt for the rest of my life. It's kind of a fitting retribution, isn't it? Break his heart, shatter my rib." Raina didn't even care about if anyone was watching her anymore, they couldn't hear. "But when I woke up in the hospital - Saint Francis, again, I don't know why I keep getting stuck in there - he was sitting next to my bed, holding my hand. What did I do to deserve a man who loves me so much? Why didn't he leave? Gosh, I wish you could answer me." Her fingers had started shaking and she twisted them into the dying grass around the grave. "But we talked. We always seem to talk it out. And we did some more talking. We're starting to get really serious. I took him to the Symphony Hall and UN Plaza and Union Square yesterday. And- He bought rings. He bought our rings, Nick. I'm gonna marry him." She'd started tearing up and squeezed her eyes shut to prevent her tears from falling. "I wish you could be there to see it. I mean, he hasn't proposed yet, because we're still in school, but we both know that's our end goal. I just- I just wish you could be there to give me away like you promised you would." She couldn't hold the tears back any longer and few of them spilled onto her cheeks. "I miss you so much, Nick. So much. But I'm still here, I'm still living for you. And now for Levi and the band and- and for myself. I think you'd be proud of me. I hope you are. I'll see you again soon, but for now," She lifted her gaze to the clear blue sky, a few more tears spilling down her cheeks, "for now watch me do what you always told me to do. Watch me rise and conquer."
