Modern!Laina AU with Agent Lillytiger

Raina made it upstairs with a lot of shoving and polite answers and effort. She rubbed the back of her neck as she stepped into the crowded room, trying to find the rest of the band so that maybe they could ward off the people for her until Levi got there. Unfortunately, the press found her before she was able to do that. She answered their questions as quickly and politely as she could, but they just kept coming and getting more and more uncomfortable, her breathing picking slightly and her chest starting to tighten in that all too familiar way. She finally snapped when someone asked if she and Levi were sleeping together. She shook her head and pushed past the people. "Ex-Excuse me, I have- I have to go." She muttered. She needed to get out of the room. Find an out of the way hall and get herself under control before she had a full blown panic attack. She once again just ignored everyone, intent on getting out. Great. She'd just wanted to enjoy the night but she'd had to be stupid and throw their relationship out for the world to know. She bit her lip and finally stepped out into a quiet hallway. She sank down, sitting with her back against the wall. She closed her eyes and took deep breaths until she finally got herself under control. She knew she needed to get up, go back in there, and find Levi, but she just needed a few more minutes first.

Levi shoved his way into the party, immediately finding himself mobbed by press. He gave them swift and concise answers to their questions, then excused himself to find Raina. He scanned the room for the familiar blonde hair but was unable to spot her. He did see Petra and Oluo in a corner and made his way over to them. "Hey, have you guys seen Raina?" He called out. They glanced at each other, then shook their heads. "No, not yet." Petra called back. Levi sighed and nodded. "Thanks. Let her know I'm looking for her if you see her?" He asked. They nodded again and Levi pushed his way back through the party. He spotted a hallway leading away from the party and started toward it, thinking maybe she could've gone there if she needed some space. He was only a few yards away when two women swooped up next to him. "Hello Levi!" They crooned, draping their arms around him. "Hello. I'm sorry, but-" One girl hushed him by pressing her finger to his lips. "We've been looking for you. There are so many things I want to ask you." Levi eyed the woman, trying to figure out her angle. Something seemed off about this. "What're-" Suddenly her lips were on his, and he froze in confusion and shock. He tried to pull away, but there wasn't any where to go with the other woman at his other side. Flashes went off as the paparazzi went crazy, and Levi finally was able to yank himself away. "What the h***?" He yelled.

Raina took a few more deep breath to be sure she was actually good before opening her eyes again. Well, time to brave the crowds. She just needed to find Levi and then they would spend the night together and it would be okay. She finally pushed herself to her feet and walked back through the doors and into the room. She looked around, finally spotting her boyfriend across the room and starting towards him. She was about a quarter of the way there and was just about to call to him when she noticed the fact that he and another woman were lip locked. She froze mid-step, her mind whirring. She blinked, forcing back the tears that were suddenly welling up behind her eyes. She took a deep breath and continued forward. They could talk later. She could yell at him later. For now, she just needed to put a stop to this.

Levi shoved himself away from the women, glaring at both of them. He noticed that they were staring at something behind him and turned to see Raina. "No. No no no no." He muttered. He moved toward her, elbowing people out of the way. "Raina!" He called out over the crowd.

Raina bit her lip, looking up at Levi as he called her name. Do not yell at him. Don't make a scene, that's the last thing you need to do is feed conflict to the press. Do. Not. Yell. At. Him. She'd just pretend she hadn't noticed until later. That would work, right? She forced a smile and raised a hand. "Hey. You made it."

Levi finally made it to Raina, eyeing her suspiciously as she greeted him politely. "Yeah..." Guessing what she was up to, but unable to play along, he grabbed her hand and started pulling her back through the crowd toward the empty hallway. He needed to explain what had happened before she jumped to conclusions.

Raina offered another forced smile as Levi joined her in the middle of the floor. She interlocked their fingers out of habit as he took her hand and pulled her back towards the hallway. Her lip twitched. Great. Now he was going to try and make excuses and beg her forgiveness. Or he was going to- well she honestly didn't know what he was going to do. The only thing she knew was that she'd caught the love of her life kissing someone else and there was an immense pain in the left side of her chest.

Levi stepped into the empty hallway, pulling Raina with him. He dropped her hand and glanced over to make sure no one had followed them. He finally fixed his gaze on her, his heart racing as he tried to figure out how to explain. "Raina, that wasn't what it looked like." He began, desperately searching her eyes to see what she was thinking.

Raina followed Levi into the hallway and pulled the door shut behind them. If they were going to have a fight, she didm'[t want anyone overhearing. She dropped her gaze and bit her lip. She puffed a breath out through her nose, having to work to keep herself from snapping right then and there. "Sure it wasn't." She muttered.

Levi swallowed hard at Raina's words. She didn't believe him. A sharp pain penetrated his heart and he shook his head, reaching for her hands. "It wasn't. She just kissed me. Please, Raina, I didn't do anything." He was terrified, absolutely terrified, that she wouldn't believe him.
