How did he figure out I was good at dance? Did I say it to him? I don't think so. Maybe it's because he looked at your schedule and saw your bag with the giant letters reading 'dance' on it. Idiot. Hearing his reasoning I smile a little. That sounded nice, to be supported by his aunt. When he asks me if it was because of family, I immediately blurt out, "oh gosh no." Blushing immensely, I look down at my hands, unable to believe I just said that aloud. My mother is a forensic scientist and my father is a lawyer, my family didn't have one creative bone in any of their bodies, they hated the arts, but he didn't need to know that. Instead I tell him only what he asked about, the reason I started dancing. "My English tutor... she ran a dance studio as well. She saw how nervous and shy I was and thought that dancing would help me develop confidence... but all it's helped me develop is terrible stage fright," I mumble quietly. I was good in English, well, okay at it, I am phenomenal in math, like really, really good. Anyways, the only reason why I got an English tutor at such a young age was to make sure I didn't fall behind. You can't become a doctor is you don't have good grades.

"You want to be a doctor? I don't know if this is a good school for you then. The math levels are not that intense...This is a preforming arts specific school after all..." Eric said looking at her. "I mean it is totally up to you and I am not trying to kick you out or anything I am just thinking this may not be the best place for you if you want to do something like that." He said looking at her.

(( She didn't say the doctor thing aloud, that was what she was thinking so he wouldn't know that ))

(Sorry I missed that...)

"That is great! Dance is pretty cool but I am not that good at it. The next show would be very interesting because the two main characters do a lot of dancing. I have gotten the lead every time I have tried out but this one will be interesting because I might not because of that. You should audition! If you like to dance, this will be a great show for you." He said to her. Eric was smiling very happy with his idea.

I bite my lip nervously, shaking my head a little. "Oh no, I can't do that. Not to be rude, but did you miss the whole 'having terrible stage fright' thing? I could hardly dance in front of a few people to audition to get into this school, let alone dance in front of an entire audience. I'd freeze up... or faint. I can't do that, I'd be awful."

"No. I think you would be amazing. We rehearse so much that you will not feel like the audience is there. It will feel like another rehearsal. It is so much fun. Plus, there will be a big cast to support you. Even if you don't get the lead, it is still a lot of fun." Eric said to her. "I really think you should do it. It is a closed audition so it is just you and the director who is also our current teacher so it is not that stressful if you do not mind what part you get. It is just fun to be involved in something and you don't get much out of this school if you do not participate in at least one extra thing. It is a preforming arts school after all." He said looking at her. He really wanted her to at least think about it. He also thought it could help get rid of the stage fright as well.

"And you're doing it too? No matter what?" What are you, insane? You can't possibly be thinking about doing this? You can't act or sing, dancing is about the only thing you can do, and not in front of people. But maybe- But maybe what? Maybe this time will be different? Maybe you'll get over your stage fright? I doubt it. Maybe if Eric helps me I can...

"Yes I am. I am not going to stop what I love just because I am not that great of a dancer. I can work on that during practices. This is my passion. I would be very lost if I did not do it because I would not know what to do." He said to her. "Really it is great. You meet a lot of nice people and all of them like very similar fields of study so it is nice. I really enjoy it." Eric said to her.

I let out a sigh, unable to believe that I was actually considering this when I couldn't even dance in front of an audience. "I... I don't know. I'll see, I guess. I just don't want to let anyone down if I do it and then freeze up on stage. Not to mention embarrassing myself in front of the whole school. There are so many things that could go wrong."

"Great! And you won't let anyone down. We all cover for each other. Occasionally, a line is forgotten but we make sure no one knows that and we would be able to cover if you froze up too. We all have to learn how to do that if we intend on getting jobs as an actor anyway and a lot of the theatre department does but not all of them. There are a few other dancers that try out as well sometimes. You really will not be alone." Eric said. He did not want to tell her yet that more than just the school comes to see the show but he would in time.
