Wow, only five out of the 100... So they actually thought I was good? I must be a little good if they let me in. I couldn't draw at all, I was awful at drawing. My strong suit was dancing, though I was terrified to dance in front of others. I was okay at the audition, there had only been a few people in there to judge me. I just couldn't handle being up on stage. As we enter the classroom, I am surprised as Eric asks for me to sit by him. "Alright," I say softly, taking the seat next to him. I hold my breath as the teacher looks our way, but I realize that he wants to talk to Eric, not me. Thank goodness. Watching Eric make his way to the stage, I am entranced by his acting. Wow he's good, no wonder why he likes this class so much. The others didn't seem surprised, already knowing what to expect from him. I let out a small sigh, realizing I had much to learn.

He looked over at Rosemary and smiled. The teacher told them to pair up and a few people asked Eric to be their partner. He kindly declined and looked at Rosemary. "Want to be partners?" He asked her. He could tell she was shy and because she already knew him a little, thought she would be more comfortable with him. Plus he really wanted to see what she could do. He listened to the rest of the instructions about what they were doing. Script readings. He felt he coulddo that in his sleep. He was hoping for a challenge but this would be a good way to see what she could do. He took the script that was handed to him and looked through it a little bit.

Seriously? Partners? Wonderful.. This is just great. I'm awfully awkward, no one will want to be with me. However, I quickly turn to Eric as I hear his question. Blinking in surprise, I ask, "really? You want to be my partner? I mean... sure.. I guess," I tell him, thankful that he offered. I wouldn't have been able to ask him or anyone myself. Listening to the teacher, I think for a moment. Okay, I can do this, I can read a script, I think. I hope. Oh gosh, but he's going to be so much better than me. I hope I don't slow him down too much.

"I think it could be fun to do this with you. Anyway, what kind of acting experience do you have? What I like to do is quickly read through the script so I can get a feel for it before I start trying to act it out. You can feel your character better that way. At least I feel like you can. So how would you like to start this?" He asked her. Eric glanced around at everyone else who were reading through their scripts and then back at her. "It looks like everyone else has the same kind of idea." He said.

"I don't really have that much," I say softly, looking down at the script. "I've taken one or two acting classes, but that's about it. Acting isn't really my thing." Maybe that's why he chose me, he thought I'd be some amazingly great actress or had some hidden talent that I was keeping a secret. But I didn't. This was just me. The shy, awkward dancer afraid to step on stage. Hearing his suggestion, I say, "okay. We can do that."

"That is okay. Not everyone here is good at everything. You can't be that bad. Let's get started." He said and said his line. He did not really act it out. He just read the words how he would any book. (Sorry writers block.)

I think I can be pretty bad if I can't even speak the lines without getting too nervous. However, I just nod, listening to him speak the line and take my turn, reading the next. Okay, I could do this... maybe. I think. Or hope.

(( It's okay ))

Eric said his lines and when he had read the rest of his part of the script, he thought about his character and what he needed his character to feel an how he needed to react. He looked at her. "Alright. We probably only have time to run through it actually acting it out once before the period is over and we have to go. We don't have to run it if you do not want to though. It is totally up to you." He said to her. "We will probably be working on this tomorrow as well." He added.

As we finish, I hear him say about running it through with acting. Oh no, then he'll really see how bad I am. Finally I say, "umm, could we wait until tomorrow?" At least then I have tonight to practice them before he has to see my acting. "Maybe I could um, learn a little about you instead? How did you get into acting?" I ask softly, not liking to talk to people but at least this was better than him seeing my acting.

"Okay that works." He said putting his script on his notebook. "Well, my aunt was an actress and she told me how great it was and I wanted to start doing it too so I did." He said looking at her. He shrugged. "It was fun to practice with her. We used to do it all the time. How did you get into dancing?" He asked her. "Family?" He asked.
