lux smiled at keto. she could tell the other mermaid was proud. she was proud of her. she hadn't known keto for long but she had been very helpful, she knew that keto would be a good friend to her. she wanted to go back to being a human but she also didn't. she wished she could just live two different lives. she nodded. "okay, ill try," she said. she closed her eyes, imagining the solar system, the sun and the planets orbiting it. her ball split into nine balls, one was large representing the sun and the rest were smaller and rotated around the larger orb of water. it was very mesmerizing to watch.

Keto smiled, bringing her hands above the water to clap her hands together. "See! You're a natural! I bet you have all the powers of a born mermaid. For now, you should just keep practicing controlling the movements of water. Make it do different things for you, and then we can try something else." She then looked up at the sky, through the hole atop the volcano. She could tell it was getting darker, the sun would set soon and the moon would be out. "I've got a really cool place to show you, though. Come on," She said as she grabbed a hold of Lux's hand and dove back under the water, making a dash for the underwater exit to the moon pool.

lux had amazed even herself by doing what she had just done. she wondered if maybe there was more to her than just being a human even before she fell into the moonpool. maybe she had descended from mermaids? it would make sense because of how powerful she was. then again, she had only ever seen keto and herself do magic, so there could very well be much more powerful magic. she nodded. "oh okay!" she said, diving in after keto but letting her lead the both of them.

Keto swam out of the underwater entrance to the moonpool, still holding Lux's hand tight in her own so that she didn't lose the other mermaid. After only a couple more minutes of swimming, she surfaced. They were near the beach now, just next to one of the rocks that were in the shallows. She climbed up on to it, facing away from her home island and staring at the horizon. "Come on up, the sunset is beautiful from here." She called down to Lux as she lay back atop the rock, but propped herself up on her elbows so she would still be able to see the sun drop below the horizon."

lux gripped tightly to keto's hand to be able to keep up with her. she was still getting use to her tail but she guessed she'd have to learn to swim faster sometime. she lifted her hair from the water at the same time as keto. she looked around at the nearby rocky shore and looked up at keto as she climbed onto the rock. she raised her eyebrow, not really sure how to climb up when she had a tail. she took a deep breath then pulled herself up beside keto, looking out at the horizon to see the bleeding sun as it started to sink into the water.

Keto smiled at Lux as the other mermaid pulled herself up in to the rock beside. She turned back to the horizon, watching intently as the sun moved below the sea line. The sky flooded with pinks and oranges. "When I was still doing my training, I used to sneak away every night to come and sit here to watch the sunset. My parents didn't like it because they were worried I'd be seen by humans. But this is the best view. You can't see much of it from anywhere else and it's so beautiful." She let out a sigh as darkness surrounded them. She was silent for a few long moments before she turned to Lux. "We should probably get you back to the mainland, so you can go home before your friends start to worry about you." She said, though she'd be quieter lonely on her own. It would be the first night she be alone since she was born, always having her family around.

lux watched as the sea waved turned shades of red, pink and orange as the sun sunk under the dim water. the last lights of sunlight shimmered and danced across the dark water before the sun finally disappeared and the light faded away. she could see the moon now in the dark dusk sky. she looked over at keto and smiled. she nodded. "id probably sneak off too, ive never seen a sunset quite like this before. maybe its just how i feel or maybe its just because i've never really been in the water during a sunset," she said with a small laugh. she nodded and sighed. "you're right," she said to keto. she didn't know how she felt going back. of course, she missed her friends and family but she would also miss keto. "will we be able to meet again?" she asked keto as she began to slid down the rock to get back into the water.

Keto smiled, actually looking forward to the idea of meeting Lux again. She wasn’t the best teacher, but she was rather enjoying helping the other mermaid come to terms with her new found tail, and help her control her powers. It was nice to not be around her family all the time, they were constantly telling her everything she was doing wrong and how to improve it. She loved them, but they were a bit much. A break was nice. Though she did miss them, she would make a point of going off on her own more often, and probably venturing further away from them, when she found her way back to them. After she had helped Lux of course. For now, she would enjoy the company of her new friend. “Of course, I still have a lot to teach you. And some cool things to show you.” She said with another smile. “Would you like me to swim with you to the mainland?” She asked the other girl. Though she enjoyed alone time, spending a whole night alone in the moon pool was not something she was looking forward to. Her family had always been there, and it would be the first time she’d ever really been on her own for a night.

lux felt that keto was the best teacher she could have when learning to use her tail and powers. she was young and understood what it was like to be new to something, or at least she felt that she felt that way. she looked at her hands for a moment thinking about her powers. this was her life now. she would always have to hide something from her family now. she couldn't even trust them, what if it slipped out from one of them? she would become a science experiment, just a zoo animal and not an actual human being. she nodded with a happy smile. "thank you, i need someone to teach me and you're the only mermaid i know," she said with a giggle. "other than myself of course." she nodded. "that would be great if you could, i probably won't really be able to tell were im going because of how dark it is, im not usually outside, or in the water for that matter, this late," she said to her. "should we go then?" she asked her new friend.

Keto smiled and nodded, it had been a while since she had been close to the mainland, but she still knew the way even in he dark. She used to sneak away quite often to float by the shore, watching the people with legs, learning more and more about them. She began to swim off ahead, so that Lux could follow her. She made sure to keep a steady pace as Lux still wasn’t the fastes swimmer with a tail. Still, even at this pace they would be by the mainland in no time. Keto knew of a secluded place on the beach where Lux could dry offer without the fear of being seen by any other humans.
