lux blinked. transform? we this joke? was she dreaming? she had thought that mermaids were just a tall tale and had given up on them about eight years ago. now she was one and she still wasn't sure what to do. it seemed that the draft of the ocean and wind had been enough to dry off lux and her tail disappeared. she quickly stood and said, "yes, me and my four friends were camping here, i was out getting fire wood," she said to her then asked, "so you're a mermaid?"

Keto nodded, watching as her own tail turned to legs as she eventually dried off. She could have used her powers to dry herself quicker, but she hadn't thought of that. She now sat in the sand, realizing that she would need clothes. "Yes, I'm a mermaid. My name is Keto. But it's not safe for your friends to be here. I can't leave here looking like this." She said. She had never fully dried herself before, or been on land with her legs. She had seen some mermaids do it, but they had drawn too much attention to themselves so it was now forbidden. "Go back to your friends and make sure they don't find this place. As soon as the sun comes up, they have to leave. It's too dangerous for them to be here, and we could expose ourselves." She then told her.

lux watched as the girl's own legs dried. she realized that the girl had never really been out of the water before, she didn't really have any clothes to change into. lux, who had been wearing a jacket, gently removed her jacket and offered it to the girl. keto. that was an odd name to her but she guessed her name was odd as well. "i'm lux," she said. she nodded then stood from where she was sitting on the cave floor. "how should i get them away? we planned to be her for a few day," she said to keto. she was so nervous. was she a mermaid now too? would she have to hide for everyone?

Keto smiled slightly as she took the offered jacket and quickly put in on, covering herself up. She stood up on shaky legs, since she wasn't used to this walking business. She guessed she would have to get used to it, though. She looked up at Lux, thinking about how they could get the girl's friends to leave in the middle of the night. "We'll scare them away." She said with a slight grin. She could use her powers to scare the girls in to leaving. They wouldn't dare come back again, either. "Take me to them. When they are gone, I can explain everything to you."

lux watched as keto covered herself with the jacket and felt a bit more comfortable. she knew that it wasn't really a big deal but to her it was a bit odd to be uncovered around someone else. she then nodded but didn't exactly know how the mermaid wanted to scare her friends away. what if they thought something bad had happened to her? she then nodded again. "okay," she said then looked around, trying to figure out how to get out of the moonpool and how to get back to the camp her friends were at. she then found an opening and walked out of it, trying to figure out where exactly she was.

Keto nodded once the girl agreed to her small plan. She followed Lux out of the cave, through the land entrance. She knew it was there, but she had never used it before, since she had never allowed herself to dry enough to get legs before. She was a little shaky to start off with, trying to keep her balance and get used to walking with legs was a little bit trickier than she had originally thought. "You can't tell anyone about us. Even your friends or family." She then said as they left the cave. She looked up at the night sky, the full moon shining brightly above them, surrounded by the bright stars. She loved the sky at night, it was so beautiful and peaceful. After a moment, she turned her attention back to Lux. "But I'll teach you how to use and control your powers, at least until we can find a way to turn you back to normal." She then said, knowing how mad her own family would be if they found out she let a land girl in the moon pool, and thus allowing her to transform in to a mermaid.

lux looked back at keto once again. the girl was quite pretty but look a bit odd wobbling about on her new legs. she sighed then looked ahead, trying to see with the dim lighting, only the moon showing her where to go. she looked around then saw a familiar looking tree. "we are getting close," she told the girl. "i wont but what if they find out?" she asked, nervous. she was a bit surprised when she heard that they had powers, what keto promised to teach her how to use. she nodded, already wanting a way to be turned back to normal and be able to not lie to her family. she finally saw the campsite from the flickering fire that her friends had made, the fire she was fetching wood for. "there it is," she told her.

Keto thought about it for a moment. What if her friends did find out? It was certainly a huge risk to both her and Lux, plus Keto's family wherever they were now. There was always the chance that they would tell other people, and it would draw too much attention. "That's not an option. It's too dangerous for them to know, even if they find out by accident." She told her. When they reached the camp site, Keto stayed hidden behind a bush. She could see Lux's friends, gathered around a small fire. "Get down and stay quiet." She said as she focused on the fire. She extended her arm, using her hand to control the fire. Perks of being a mermaid, you get some pretty cool powers. The fire grew rapidly, causing the ground to set alight. The girls looked pretty panicked, but Keto didn't allow the fire to grow any more. Instead, she moved her hand away, causing the fire to extinguish. She then used her hand to create a large gust of wind, blowing the tent that was behind the girls. "Make some kind of noise, an animal or something." She then instructed Lux.

lux sighed. how could she help it if her parents, family or friends accidently found out about this? what could she do? she just nodded along, not bothering trying to talk her out of the idea that accidents could be prevented. she then got down on her knees and hid behind a bush. she looked up at keto and watched her start to play with the fire before putting it out and moving the tent. her eyes widened as she was asked to make a noise. she did know bird calls and some owls sure did sound odd or creepy. she choose one and that was enough to send her friends running. "they're scared easily," she said.
