Jared was ready to begin protesting immediately, that Erik couldn't do that because he had already done too much for Jared. Instead he shook his and gave a small indulging smile "You know you don't have to, but I'd be glad to be going with you if you did."

Erik smiled, "I would love to take you Jared, see if you stick around till spring break, since I am guessing that you are spending Christmas with family, since it's important to you." he said as he watched and took another bite.

Jared nodded happily in agreement for his response. "Yeah, that was kind of the plan. As soon as classes are over for the year, head back home for a couple of weeks."

"That'll be nice." Erik said with a nod, smiling over at him, "So it'll be the whole family?" he asked as he looked over at Jared, "So what do you do around Christmas?" he asked.

Jared nodded his head when Erik asked if it would be the entire family would be there for Christmas. "Well, I've already told you what we do on Christmas Day, but for the rest of the holidays it's usually pretty chill. The first day of break is when me and my mom put up the tree and all the decorations. We hang around the house mostly, just doing whatever or sometimes making cookies or some other treat. And we always take down the decorations on New Year's Day so that we can watch the Rose parade as we work."

"So what's your favourite Christmas treat?" Erik asked with a warm smiled as he watched him curiously, he still didn't really get this whole, big family Christmas thing, but everyone had their own traditions. He wasn't even planning on leaving campus for Christmas, his parents were going to be somewhere tropical, and he didn't have Breeze to go visit, so he'd stay home, listen to music, paint, but he wanted to hear what Jared's favourite Christmas things were.

"Oh, I don't know. We make so many, and they all taste so good..." he chuckled and happily began to describe some of the sweets they had made in the past. "Rice Krispie Treat squares with icing to look like presents, brownie triangles on candy cane sticks decorated to look like trees, mini strawberry santas, snowman marshmall pops, sugar cookies in Christmas shapes. Just about anything that can be thought of, we probably made it at some point. Honestly I think my favorite were these cookies we made. They were basically plain sugar cookies, but while they were still we put mint Hersey kisses on top of them. I think I ate at least a dozen within 24 hours the first time we made them. Maybe more..." Jared grinned somewhat sheepishly as he recalled how he hadn't seemed to be able to get enough of the cookies and had ending up with a terrible stomachache the next day.

Erik laughed as he listened, "That sounds wonderful Jared." he said as he watched him get so excited and happy, "And that sounds delicious, I don't think I'd be able to restraint myself either." he said with a laugh as he imagined all the cookies Jared and his mother must have made, to him it sounded like a Christmas movie.

"I could make you some one day and we can test that theory," Jared suggested. He would have been happy to share any bit of his holidays with Erik, especially if it would him happy as well. The image of Erik in his kitchen surrounded by Christmas treats filled Jared's thoughts for a minute and he smiled, though he wasn't sure if Erik would agree to it. He'd have to wait and see.

Erik smiled as he looked at Jared, "You won't see my arguing." he said with a laugh as he looked at Jared, "Now you have me wanting dessert." he smiled as he finished his main and looked over at his companion.
