Jared rolled his eyes at the response and smile he got. "Maybe you should start working, planning ahead, putting money away in case that does happen. I'd hate for you to just be thrown out in the world like a lost puppy or something and not have anything to keep you going. And even if by some chance it doesn't, you can feel good about having earned some of your money yourself." That was how Jared had always thought. Work hard to get money, put the money away for bills and groceries, and get by.

Erik laughed, "You are such a working class person Jared." he chuckled as he looked over at him. "I don't work, never have, being shocked into it is the only way will probably change. I have a lifestyle I am used to and have never had to do anything else or change that. I have some money hidden away anyway." he shrugged a bit as he pulled up at the A&W, "It's hard to change habits, especially if you have no reason to."

Well then, we need to find you a reason to change."Alright, whatever. Let's go get you a burger since I got you craving one so bad," Jared brushed past the end of the topic, playfully shoving the side of Erik's arm once he had parked the car.

Erik chuckled and got out, "Come on then, let's go get some burgers." he smiled happily as he held his hand out to Jared. Erik was very blaise about life, he was the kind of person who rolled with the punches when they came and didn't really plan ahead for the future. He was relaxed and calm and didn't care much about what tomorrow could bring when he had today to enjoy.

Jared smiled and took his hand as he got out as well, not letting go as they entered the restaurant. It was mostly empty, since it seemed to be nearly closing time, and they were able to order without waiting. Once he had asked for his usual bacon cheeseburger, cheese curds, and diet rootbeer float, he glanced over at Erik.

Erik just order a burger, no fries or drink, he headed to a table with Jared, giving him a smile, "So now that you know how much of a completely spoiled brat I am, what do you think?" he asked with a soft chuckle.

"I think..." He paused as he slid into the seat before turning to face Erik. "That you aren't a spoiled brat, just that you're too used to having everything available to you. You're different because a brat will expect to get whatever they, whenever they want, from whoever they want, and rub it in other people's faces. You don't do that. You're used to easily getting stuff, but you share what you receive or use it to help others. At least as far as I've seen. I swear, if I didn't know better, I would think you're trying to get me to ditch you," he stated, mostly teasing him, but also giving him a look as if to ask if he was going to confirm it.

Erik listened to Jared with a smiled and he nodded a little, at the last sentence he laughed, "You got me, I have the really bad habit of testing people to see if I can get rid of them because I have never had a genuinely close relationship." he smiled as he took a bite of the burger. "So people who try and be my friends get spoiled and exposed to me until they leave because of my overbearing enthusiasm or my strange quirks, or the big one, I bet you can guess it, that I avoid talking about myself." he said, smiling through his entire speech.

As he listened to Erik's explanation, Jared took a bite of his own burger and frowned. "Well that's stupid, on your part for testing people, and on everyone else's part for leaving." He started snacking on his cheese curds before looking over at Erik with a neutral expression. "It's a good thing I have my own quirks and am too stubborn for my own good. You're going to be stuck with me for a while."

Erik chuckled as he looked at Jared, "I never said I was smart." he told him as he happily ate his burger, "And I guess we will see Jared, who can outstubborn who." He was teasing of course, as much as Erik was happy and easy going, he was used to friends, and relationships, not lasting too long. His longest relationship had been with his mare, and his parents had just sold her off, but he didn't dwell on those kinds of things, he didn't like feeling negative emotions, so he buried them. "How's the food?" he asked after a moment, smiling.
