"I just said I liked it!" Jared exclaimed with a laugh, lightly poking Erik's stomach as the other laid back. "And it could be worse. I could be extremely picky, but I at least try anything new once, and even if I'm not a huge fan of something, I won't waste it by not eating it." Jared laid down on his stomach beside Erik and grinned at him. "But here's a hint for the next time you make sandwiches," he started, lowering his voice some as if he was sharing a secret. "I love plain, honey smoked ham sandwiches.

"I will note that." Erik said softly as he took Jared's hand, twining their fingers as he looked at the stars. "I like looking at the night sky." he said, but he had to sit up after a moment. "So, how was your day?" he asked looking gown at Jared with a soft smile.

Jared shifted as Erik sat up, resting his head on one arm and lifting the other arm that was holding Erik's hand. "Oh, it was okay," he replied, attempting to shrug but failing since he was laying down. "It wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either. I got some stuff done that I've been meaning to do for a while, so that's a plus."

Erik nodded, "Well being productive is always a plus." he said with a soft smile as he looked down at Jared. He was working so hard to be happy, after all, since he was little, it had been drilled in his head that he had to be happy, since he was a rich kid and go everything he had ever wanted. So when he got into these mopey moods, he get angry with himself, because he had no right to feel like this. But Breeze had been so much to him, she'd been his closest friend, pretty much his family, and now she was gone, up for sale, and Jared knew that, keeping it hidden. He thought he and Jared were pretty good friends at least, but Jared hadn't told him, hid it from him, but maybe that had been to keep him safe... but Erik knew he couldn't jump to conclusions, that just got people hurt. He was sure Jared had a good reason, and maybe he had just been mistaken about what he saw... maybe that wasn't Breeze in the flyer...

And even if it was, as much as Erik wanted her back, he couldn't, as much as he like to pretend he was free, all his own money was locked in a trust until he was twenty five, and even then, it wasn't his, it was an inheritance from his grandfather. And true he'd won money in horse shows, but he had used that too take care of Breeze, buy art supplies, waste it essentially. And he did invest, but that money was tied up, and he couldn't afford to keep Breeze without his parent's help, without getting a job, and with no experience or references, and being the spoiled rich kid, well... As much as he pretended to be independent, he knew he was still under his parent's thumb, which they liked showing him whenever they could. Which always reminded him, he was, and always would be that spoiled rich kid.

He shook his head a little to snap himself out of those dark thoughts and looked at Jared with a light smile, he knew he was being a spoiled brat thinking like that, and he needed to cheer up for Jared anyway. "So, for this coming weekend, want to spend it hanging out, netflix and chill as the kids say these days?" he asked with a teasing smile.

Jared tilted his head worriedly when Erik seemed to get lost in his thoughts for a bit, but he relaxed some when Erik was smiling at him again. He laughed lightly, hoping Erik knew there was double meaning to that phrase, but nodding anyways. "Yep. Relax this weekend, follow up with a hectic week of ending the semester and getting ready for break, and end with packing and leaving next weekend," he listed off, grinning up at Erik. He would have a surprise for him next weekend, and hopefully another one while he was away on break.

Erik smiled as he looked at Jared, he knew very well there was a double meaning to that phrase, but he did just mean netflix and relax. He leaned back on the blanket on his elbows and listened as he spoke some more. "Well that sounds perfect, I am so looking forward to the flurry of exams and tests we will get to take." he said with a smile as he looked over at Jared as they relaxed together. He banished his more negative thoughts as he focused on the present with Jared, "So what classes do you have tomorrow? It is my off day, so I think I am going to study and make sure all my assignments are finished." he said before he leaned over and kissed Jared's cheek.

Jared hummed happily at the kiss he received. "That sounds like a good plan. And to answer your question, I have Comp, Psychology, Politics, & Algebra. Plus work in the evening. So not exactly an off day for me,"" he joked, chuckling as he did. The hand that had been intertwined with Erik's slowly pulled back and began to trace patterns up and down Erik's sleeve now that the other was laying beside Jared again.

"Sounds like a full day." Erik said with a soft chuckle as he looked at Jared, "Well, will you have time for dinner after work? Or will I have to suffer without you all day tomorrow?" he asked with a soft chuckle as he looked at Jared with a smile and relaxed as he felt him tacing patterns on his sleeve.

"Ooooh... I don't know....." Jared frowned, pretending to be thinking over his answer. "I might be able to squeeze something in after work. Maybe..." He grinned, and leaned into Erik's side slightly, looking up at him from where Jared was laying flat on the ground to show that he was joking.

Erik chuckled and smiled, "Well hopefully you can find some time.' he teased as he looked at him, he leaned down and kissed him softly. It was just a light and quick kiss, after all, he didn't want to bother Jared with P.D.A. when he knew Jared wasn't a fan.
