Jared tilted his head as he reached to take the cooler from Erik. "I am, but..... Erik, are you alright?" Erik wasn't usually this quiet, and it was off-putting to see him without his usual smile or not here him chuckling.

Erik shrugged, "It's just been an off day sorry, I don't want to talk about it Jared." he said softly. He was trying to shake the dreams, the weird feelings, but he couldn't. "Sorry, should have cancelled our date so you wouldn't have to deal with mopey me." he said with a weak chuckle.

Jared nodded again when Erik said he didn't want to talk about his day, but shook his head when he tried to say he should have cancelled. "No you shouldn't have. Not just for that reason. So if you're feeling up for it, let's just go sit for a while and enjoy your food." He lifted the cooler a little higher and took Erik's hand, smiling up at him. He wouldn't mind being around Erik, even if they didn't really do anything that night.

Erik nodded and walked with him silently, heading into the park with him. He took Jared's hand when they both had a free hand. "I hope we can at least enjoy a good meal." he said with a soft chuckle.

Jared chuckled along with him. "Of course we will! You made it after all." He was content to walk along for a bit until he spotted a nice flat spot. He pointed it out to Erik, wondering if he would like to sit there.

Erik laid a blanket down and sat down with Jared, he laid out the sandwiches, "It's pretty basic." he said with a smile, "So hopefully you enjoy it." he said

Jared shrugged as he took a seat, cross legged, beside Erik. "Somethings are better basic. Like mac and cheese, pizza rolls, or Ramon noodles.. to name a few." He reached for one of the sandwiches, and pretended to inspect it carefully before taking a bite out of it.

Erik chuckled, they were simple turkey sandwiches, he really hoped he didn't mind them, he smiled as he watched, Jared made him feel better.

"Hmm," he hummed as he chewed, pausing and glancing at Erik as he finished. "I'll admit, usually I'm not a fan of turkey, because I find it a little dry, but... this isn't too bad," Jared remarked with a grin. He was half grinning as part of of the dramatics of his comment, and half grinning because of the real smile he had seen on Erik's face.

"Well, it seems like I do my best to pick out food you don't like." he chuckled as he looked up at the sky, "I seem to have the worst taste in making food for you, what's this? the second or third meal I have made that you aren't a fan of?" he asked with a shake of his head as he laid back on the blanket.
