Ryder chuckled and stood slowly as Kai walked over. Kai hated Ryder for how he'd treated the family when they first moved in, and the fight he and katra got into once.
Kai growled lowly but gently pushed his nose against the dragons side and very gently moved her too her side.
Ryder looked up towards the sky hearing the thunder "we'll have to make this quick, that storm won't hold back forever. " his wings then spread as he patted dallens shoulder and smirked before shooting off back towards the town to grab Arielle.


Andrea shook hard but didn't fight Bryn. She was all out of fight now and felt defeated after crying for so long.

Benji sneezed and shook his head no before hopping off the dumpster and taking off into a crate further in the alley where he shook hard sending rainwater flying off himself and sat down in his little home. Benji seemed to smile back at Bryn and curled up seeing Andrea with someone who could take care of her.

"Leave him be young one, he's not worth holding a grudge over forever with." Dallen said softly, he knelt down by the dragon, looking her over. "Hmm... It's been a long time since a dragon come down from the mountains... What is she doing down here?" He muttered. He looked up at the sky and grumbled a bit. "Do you think you can handle watching over her till they return?"

Bryn sighed softly and held her closed to him, hurrying her back to his bar and up the back stairs. He sat her down I front of the fireplace while he threw in some logs and tried to get the fire going. "Andie what the hell happened to you? And why in the hell were you sitting in the rain?"

Andrea flinched, without the rain still hitting her her tears were obvious as they slod down her cheeks. She trembled hard and pulled her body close so she was sitting in a ball and sniffled. Andrea had never cried in front of her friends. Through all her ups and downs she just kept her tears to herself, but she felt so completely broken and hollow that she couldn't hold back anymore.


Kai have a soft growl agreeing and sat down a little ways away in case she woke up.


Ryder hit the ground a little hard when he got to town and his wings vanished again making him curse softly and stand brushing mud off himself as he started walking quickly to Arielles.

Arielle say outside of her home with a few small children sitting in front of her. She waved her hands and cast small light spells that would dance and play around the trio, making them giggle happily. "Not all creatures are bad, some are crankier than others, but in times like this, they're just like everyone else. They have feelings, and they don't harm people anymore."
"What about demons miss angel?" One girl asked, looking a little shy and scared.
Arielle chuckled softly. "There are some that are no better than animals, but those that live here are just like you and me. Some of my best friends are demons, and the man that raised me as his own was a demon."
The girl looked rather surprised, making Arielle giggle again. "Never judge a book by its cover little one, even if said book has a few horns and a tail." She said with a playful wink. She looked up and saw Ryder approach, smiling softly. "Ah, here comes one friend now. Go and play pups, he gets a little cranky sometimes." She said playfully, making two of the children giggle before running towards the forest, shifting into wolf pups before play fighting along the way.

Dallen nodded softly. "Good... I'll be back once the fallen leaves." He said before vanishing in a whisp of darkness.

"Andie... You know I'm upset because I was so worried about you. Z and Ari spent the day looking for you, and found you it seems... Thought Ari would be the one to get through to you.." He sighed softly. He got the fire going and then moved to his room, returning a few minutes later with some clothes. "Here, go get out of those wet clothes lass, before you catch a cold."

Andrea slowly stood but stumbled a bit and flinched again when she jumped into Bryn. She shakily took the clothes and limped into the bathroom without a word as she hiccuped and sniffled. When she got into the bathroom she nearly fell over but caught herself and sat down on the edge of the bathtub whimpering and shaking. After sitting there for a few minutes she slowly peeled her clothes off. Despite Arielles healing she still had burns covering her body. Free of the clothes and the pain they were causing her she broke down crying all over again and wrapped her arms around herself trying, in vain to pull herself together.
Along with the burns thwere were new scars where she'd been bitten....and there were old ones where she'd been abused, and in a few bar fights.


Ryder laughed a bit able to hear Arielle and stared at her with rain sliding off him, "oh real nice angel. Hey not all of you are saints" he chuckled then sighed and looked serious "but I didn't come here for playful remarks, dallens called for you in the forest. Someone there is going to need your help."


Kai nodded once then rested his chin on his paws but his horns had electricity still sparking off them. As he closed his eyes he started seeing the world through the waves everything gave off to his horns.

Arielle raised a brow. "Why would he ask for me? He can't stand being near me."

The dragon twitched a bit, her breathing turning into wheezing.

A soft knock came from the door. "Lass... I have something for you when you come out..." Bryn stood there and ran a hand through his hair. He heard her crying, and he had no idea how to help her, but he wanted her to know she wasn't alone.

Kai's orange eyes cracked open. He let out a low rumble and stood slowly before walking over to the dragon again and lightly touching her head with the back of his paw.


Ryder lightly grabbed her arm and nodded towards the woods. Despite times changing and people being able to stand being near creatures, dragons were always sought after for one thing or another, and it never ended well for the dragon. He wasn't going to risk humans or hunters overhearing what he had to say.


After sitting there and crying for a while Andrea slowly grabbed one of bryns towels to help dry her damp skin ignoring the pain from the burns. She then slowly got dressed and hung the towel back up and breathed shakily opening the door. She felt off still after bein blinded in her left eye but she figured she'd just adjust her life again, like she always did. Her eyes were locked on the floor, she felt completely unable to meet him or anyone else's eyes right now.


Zahir jerked awake when lightning lit up his room. He gasped and breathed hard before sitting up quickly

"Hey... Got this to help warm you up." Bryn said softly, holding out minty smelting hot chocolate. "Mint and chocolate always seem to help cheer people up. And you'll be warmed up too. I also have some of that ointment left for those burns." He said softly.

Arielle raised a brow but nodded, following him.

A knock came from Vera's door. Dallen stood there feeling rather awkward for visiting someone... He preferred being alone, but he was worried about her.

The dragon flinches before coughing up blood. Her eyes slowly cracked open and looked up at Kai. "you... Why?" She asked quietly, struggling to speak.

Kai stayed quiet as he backed up again and sat back down. His wings were tucked against his side like they normally were anymore making him look like a big wolf with horns rather than the demon he was. His ears flicked around catching a few sounds but nothing threatening.


Vera lay almost completely motionless in her room still. The sound of the door being knocked on seemed to echo in her head but she didn't have the strength to get up. Her back was covered in blood again but the bleeding had finally stopped.


Once away from others Ryder sighed and looked at Arielle as they walked "theres a young dragon in the woods. She's hurt pretty bad but Kai's with her...not a lot of confidence there, but he'll at least keep her company.". Once out of the neutral area Ryder's wings ripped back out of his back.


Andrea stayed where she was breathing shakily before she slowly took the drink but she wouldn't meet his eyes. She felt like she'd screwed up worse than when she got completely drunk and made a mistake by " staying" with him one night. Back then she was still single and tried to brush the whole situation off and keep things from being awkward. She'd made out with kara once because they were both drunk, but Kai was always sober near them and actually sat there laughing at them. The next day she and kara couldn't stop laughing at the memory. That was usually the worst she did was flirt with her friends, other than the one slip. She'd felt guilty ever since then, but this, him seeing her this broken, it made her feel even worse. Because now no matter what, in her mind, he'd always see her this broken and scarred rather than the usual intimidating and drinking front she always put up.

"A dragon?" Arielle said with surprise. "Even my father has never known them to leave their mountains... Let's go. If she's hurt she's a sitting duck. I have faith in Kai, but I don't want to risk them both." She said, grabbing his arm. "Alright let's go."

"Vera? Are you alright in there?" Dallen called softly.

"Hey." Bryn tipped up her chin and looked at her softly. "It's gonna be ok Lass. You didn't deserve that pain.. He isn't worth this pain, but I know you loved him... I'll be here for you, we're all here for you Lass."
