nadezhda heard octavia's voice from beside her. "we are here for the conclave. every time a commander dies a conclave is held to see who will be the new commander, the only ones that can participate are the nightbloods, who are people from the twelve clans thought to have the spirit of a commander in them, i happen to be a nightblood and that is why i came her," she explained to her then heard the call of a lead warrior. "all nightbloods gather at the base of tower," the man called. she then gave octavia's chains to one of her men and walked to the tower, lining against it with three other people. "now state your name and your clan," the person said. the first person to speak was a young girl with black hair and green eyes. "ai laik gessica kom yujleda," she said. next was an older boy with dusty blonde hair and brown eyes. "ai laik tuor kom floukru." then there was a boy looking to be the age of nadezhda. "ai laik saso kom delfikru," he said then it was her turn. she stood straight, very afraid and answered loudly, "ai laik nadezhda kom trikru," to which her people cheered loudly.

Octavia nodded as Nadezhda explained why they were here. "Good luck," She whispered to Nadezhda as the warrior moved to the base of the tower with the other 'nightbloods' whatever they were. She listened to all the other names and Clans, waiting for the conclave to begin. She wouldn't admit it, but she was curious to see what the warriors would have to do during this conclave. She guessed it would be some kind of fight, but some of the nightbloods looked a little young. Practically children. Were all these people really willing to follow a child simply because they believed them to have a commanders spirit? She stood perfectly still, eyes focused on the warriors before her. The other grounders were no longer paying Octavia any mind, they were more focused on the fight that was about to occur, cheering and chanting in trigedasleng, but Octavia wasn't really listening to them.

nadezhda took a deep breath, now their fight to the death would begin. "you my choose one weapon from the pile," the man said then pointed to an area filled with weapons. "choose your weapon then come back here." she took a deep breath and got ready for the man to shout go. this would be her first battle, to get the weapon she wanted and that was a bow with poison tipped arrows. "go!" she heard. nadezhda took off as fast as she could towards the pile. she made it before any of the others and grabbed a bow and started to search for which arrows were poison tips. she new the poison tipped ones would have black feathers on them and she finally found a quiver of them which she took, putting it on her shoulder and running back to the tower's base. she saw that gessica grabbed a sword, tuor grabbed a few daggers, and saso just barely grabbed a bow with a quiver of regular arrows without being scared to death. they all waited for the fight to begin.

Octavia leaned forwards slightly as the young warriors ran off to choose a weapon. She couldn't really see over the large men either side of her, and she didn't want to miss a thing. She saw Nadezhda collect a bow and some arrows, but she didn't take notice of the black feather. Even if she did, she wouldn't know that black meant the arrows were poison. But she was starting to come to the conclusion that this would be a fight to the death, judging by how these people seemed to act. She wanted to watch the whole fight, but she didn't know if she could if there was lots of blood. She had never really dealt with bloody deaths before, so she wasn't sure if she'd be able to stomach it. Still, for now she continued to watch as Nadezhda and the others returned to the warrior with their chosen weapons. She really didn't know why she cared. Nadezhda made it clear that she planned to kill her come sunrise anyway. And she doubted any of the other grounders would be willing to release her.

nadezhda heard the heavy breathing of her competitors, she had already calmed her heart from the short burst of running. she knew some of these nightbloods were not warriors and would no have trained so she didn't expect too much of them but all grounders knew how to use a weapon so there was that. "now, you will have until sunrise to finish this fight, it will be to the death, the victor will become the new commander," the man said. now that got her heart beating, she took a deep breath then heard, "go!" nadezhda quickly knocked her bow and found a concrete wall to hide behind, which she would have to get to first. the three seemed to be keeping themselves busy. tuor threw a dagger, landing it in saso's leg, gessica lifted her sword and dug it into tuor's shoulder, causing a grunt of pain. tuor swung around and pull the sword from his shoulder and while he was distracted saso knocked and arrow and shot him in the neck, hitting a major artery and making him fall to the ground, the pool of blood showed he was clearly dead. in this time nadezhda was now behind the wall, this would be easier for her now, she just needed to let gessica and saso battle and would kill the victor of the two. she watched as gessica took her sword and slammed it through saso's chest, causing him to die instantly. the girl took the blood from her sword and smeared it across her face. "come out nadezhda of triku!" gessica called. nadezhda knew if she shot too soon she would give herself away so she needed to quiet for the right minute. she tried to move to a different wall but gessica found her and came charging over. she pinned nadezhda to the ground and said, "i will be sure to make the death of a coward hiding in the shadows be slow."

Octavia watched as Nadezhda ran straight to a wall. It was a good strategy, well she at least thought so. Keep out of the way until it was one on one and an easier win. Octavia's gaze returned to the three other nightbloods fighting. She flinched slightly as two of them were killed, quite gruesomely actually. There was a lot of blood, so Octavia had to look away. She felt sick. She concentrated on the wall where Nadezhda was positioned behind. She kept her gaze there until she heard the other remaining nightblood call out for Nadezhda to come out of hiding. She was now watching the warrior, as Nadezhda was pinned to the ground. She held her breath, awaiting the next move from either warrior. She just hoped there wouldn't be too much blood or she was sure she wouldn't be able to control her stomach.

Essays are the worst, I hated them

nadezhda's jaw clenched. she was very afraid she would loose her life, she wasn't use to the feeling of being trapped under her enemy, she usually didn't fight many people. she knew she couldn't shot the girl from so close up so she would have to use something else. meanwhile, gessica took her sword and started to curve her name into nadezhda's arm. she didn't even show pain. she was more focused on what to kill this girl with. she felt around with and arm and found a rock. she took the rock and slammed it into the back of gessica's head, causing a bleeding wound and for the girl to roll off of her in pain. nadezhda pushed herself from the ground and knocked her bow once again. "it is you, gessica of the broadleaf clan who will die today, today i will become the commander," she said then let her arrow fly, planting it in gessica's neck, killing her slowly enough that she bled and felt the affects of the poison, her mouth foaming and her shaking in uncontrollable spasms. finally, gessica was dead but the name would hunt nadezhda every time she looked at the name curved in her arm. "the winner is, nadezhda of trikru, the new commander and to this we will celebrate," the man called, the people cheering. "and we will do this by killing the sky girl!"

Octavia watched as gessica seemed to carve something in to Nadezhda's arm, but she couldn't see what. She had to say, though, she was slightly relieved when the woods clan warrior found a rock and hit the other girl with it. When gessica was dead, from what Octavia now knew to be a poisoned arrow judging by the seizures and foaming, Octavia had to hold back a smile. Her happiness was soon replaced by fear, though, when she heard that Nadezhda's win would be celebrated by Octavia's death. She fell to the ground as one of the warriors by her side pushed her closer to Nadezhda. She looked up at the new commander with nothing but fear in her eyes. Where was Bellamy when she needed him? She began to frantically look around for something that could help her, but she was still chained. Her hands were bound. The most she could do was use her legs to push herself across the ground, away from Nadezhda.

nadezhda watched as octavia was pushed towards her. she was the commander now, now it wouldn't be as easily as just letting her go, now couldn't make herself look weak and pity and enemy. she took a deep breath and then looked at her people. "i will do this, but only to show the sky people what will happen when they trespass on our territory," she called to them in trigedasleng. she then walked over and took an arrow from the body of sosa and replaced the poisoned arrow with it. "yu gonplei ste odon," she said to octavia as she drew back. "stop or i'll shoot," the voice shook nadezhda to loosen her bow draw. "say that again, i dare you, i'll teach you sky people to disrespect my, commander!" a warrior shouted, drawing his bow and motioning for everyone else to be ready to shoot and attack.

sure, but then if he gets octavia back what will happen next, or maybe somehow they take bell in as a prisoner as well?

Octavia closed her eyes, scrunching up her face as she waited for the arrow to hit her. She waited for a death that never came. Her eyes shot open when she heard an all too familiar voice. She scanned the crowd until her gaze landed on the source of the voice. There stood her brother, a rifle drawn and aimed at the commander. Behind him, she noticed what looked to be a few members of the hundred. They looked to be a total of about twenty. Enough to do some damage with those guns. She recognized Murphy among them, aiming his own rifle at one of the warriors. She looked at them with confusion, where had they all gotten the guns? She shook her head, she could get answers later. Instead, she crawled to her knees, looking over at her brother. "Bellamy! No!" She called, causing his gaze to falter. He looked over at Octavia with a look that said he had to. But Octavia knew that if he fired the first shot, it would all be over. They may be able to hit a good amount of warriors, but the archers would easily be able to take them out. They were massively outnumbered.

--- I think they should start a fight, but ultimately, some of the grounder warriors are killed, some of the guys with Bell are killed, but Bell and the remaining guys are taken prisoner with O. If that's fine with you.
