Kursk 2 and 3 fell without a sound, tiny brains overwhelmed by the thought of death and landed with an almighty crunch on top of there dead cohort Kurse 1 and the metal shard that now skewered all 3 of the Kurse.

Thor jumped as things started crashing out of the ship and shrank further into the shadows, waiting for the perfect moment.

Loki landed on top of the Kurse, bubble shattering on impact. He twisted, narrowly avoiding being impaled. That seemed to happen way too often nowadays. Loki toppled off the pike to the floor and lay there for a second, trying to get his breath back.
Thor. Godammit, I hate you.

Thor saw his brother fall from the ship in some kind of protective bubble with confusion. What was going on. But as he saw his brother, he knew Malekith would be close by so called on his power.
He walked out from behind the rocks with his arms stretched out dramatically, the wind picked up before dropping right down and suddenly the rocks around him that were thrown were moving in slow motion; then they moved at normal speed and the rocks slightly further out moved slowly and so on and so on until the bubble in time was the size of the entire chasm.

Loki watched the rocks out of the corner of his eye.
Thor is close. I'm going to stab him.
He stayed there on the ground, recharging his metaphorical batteries.

Thor staggered, feeling slightly drained but looking around a little to see if anyone was actually trapped in the time portal he'd just created. In the distance of the chasm, he thought he saw a small, elf-like figure.

Loki hauled himself up, eyes narrowed.
Now Thor is here. When I was fighting for my life, he was probably sleeping. Now I've dealt with the threat, he's here, showing off.
Loki disappeared in a plume of green smoke, reappearing silently behind Thor.

Malekith sighed. His Kurse were probably dead, as they had not returned yet. Turning to a couple of other Kurse, he waved a pale hand.
"Make preparations. Thor will most likely be planning an attack, and I want to be ready. Also, prepare to collect the Aether."

Thor turned in a wide circle, taking his time so that he could plan his next move. He saw Loki stood exactly behind him and immediately stepped back, missed his footing and staggered while bringing Mjolnir up in an attacking stance. With that impressive performance of strength and heroics he stood up straight again, head literally in the air.

Kurse's 4 and 5, who were once called Derek and John but are now Kurse 4 and 5, trudged towards a unambiguous corner of the chasm/ The only sign that it held the Aether was the red, glowing light coming from the bottom of the rock.

"Thor."
Loki stood motionless; his face shadowed.
"You took your time. I was beginning to think,"
His hand twitched.
"You'd never show."
A pair of long, golden knives appeared in his hands, and the God of Mischief looked up, eyes cold.
"Care to explain?"

Thor's eyes focused more on the knives held in his notoriously... unreliable brother's hands than his words so it took him a second to answer the relatively easy question. "Oh, I was taking care of things out here. You managed ok, though, brother." Then part of him found the irony in his words, "Did my brother want help from me - how many times have you refused my help?"

"I managed ok?"
Loki's eyes narrowed.
"I managed ok? And if I hadn't?! Would you have noticed, brother?!"
Loki's eyes flared and glowed green and his knuckles whitened on the knife handles. Then he sighed, slumping miserably, the knives held slackly in his hands.
"I can't do everything myself.. As much as I try."
