Alex-
It was a bit unnerving to hear that ,you father had planned for me to get shot. "But I don't understand why they ran off like that." I say still confused and unsure about the whole thing. When he spoke about being a love sick puppy I wasn't sure if it was about Landon or Steele, or both. "You didn't seem to have a problem about Steele before." I say as I cross my arms and look at him confidence but a bit of uncertainty on my face. "Landon is nothing more then a friend to me I can assure you that." I say trying to make user up all of the confidence I could seeing as how I felt more like a fired to him and him to me. I just wasn't sure where it would lead yet and if I wanted it to lead anywhere.
Randall smiled, "Sure did take him a while to heal huh?" He asked hinting that they just wanted to be together for a bit before returning Alex back. Leaning back in his chair he set down his half empty glass of whiskey down. His arm was still tight around the waist of his mate as he stared at Landon with thoughtfull eyes as his brained worked up different plans. Even though he was curious about the Landon and wanted to know more he was also pleased at Landon wanting to hear about him. The drinks also didn't help his already to big ego as he toasted to whatever they were toasting to and began to recall his greatest times. For instance, one was when he won his mate over by providing for her and the other during a tough winter where Alex was sick. He also talked about his victories in battle and war where he and Alex fought side by side. Of course he made Alex seem like the weaker one of the two brothers because he didn't want any one asking about Alex, he liked having the attention on him. Drinking more of the whiskey he grinned at his friends and Landon, it shouldn't be to hard to fool him. Randall soon got on the subject of his beautiful mate sitting next to him and was obviously about to tell something that no one knew until he was elbowed hard I the ribs. Looking down at her he realized it was still a secret and just brushed it away. She smiled sweetly as if nothing had happened. She had only had one glass and her whiskey now sat untouched on the table with Randalls hand moving to her stomach.
