"Oh um.. Ots not loke fight foogt like what happened in the hall but you two do argue some. The was last night then a little the other day. Or might just be normal. I know couples argue but I have never had someone before. It just makes me a little nervous hearing arguing and fighting even when I know everything is ok. There are reasons I don't live with family. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings..yours either Landon." Crissy looked nervously between the two worried that she had offended and might get yelled at or struck. No one here had ever struck her and it was doubtful that one would today but she still worried about it.
Landon continued to remain stuck in his memories of segregation from his kin. Had it been on River's command or had it been solely because he was impure? Now possibly it was because of the acts he had done in River's name. He hated that fear and shame of association was the looks that greeted him from his own pack, his farher was uncomfortable having him in the camp too. "I guess we might have disagreed on a few things Crissy but .. we do need a new place because of what happened the other day and I probably won't be able to start working as soon as I had hoped now either but .. None of this is yours or Alex's fault. I let myself get baited, I know better.. I got territorial and overprotective. This has been my home, first place that ever really felt it and .. I over reacted. I don't deserve your kindness Crissy. O'm sorry my mess had been causing you stress. Its the last thing I wanted."
Landon's eating had started with polite gusto but had slowed when Crissy spoke and had degraded to meerly pokingbhis own food by the time he had finished replying. Crissy was human and .. special .. but he thought of her like pack and treated her as much like pack as he had been able too. He thought she would be good around pups and helpful in other matters to a group. If he and Alex did start their own pack maybe they could bring Crissy in eventually? Telling her his secret life though was a scary concept he didn't want her afraid but the image of her reaction alternated in his mind from ine of terror to excitement and fascination. Lamdon saw her much as a child but with enough practical sense that she was reliable and sometime even predictable? The girl's reaction would probably depend on how and why his secret life was revealed to her. "I mean it Crissy, you and Alex are the people I would never intentionally hurt. .. You don't need to couple sll you need is at least one good friend to have family and you both have been more family to me than my own kin ever has." Nudging his plate away now that his appitite had fled Landon stood slowly and looked as if he couldn't decide which exit to use. The back door was closest but fenced in, the from was a little further but he had no destination in mind yet and retreating to his room was just childish but it was where he was leaning. Leaving this human rooming house was going to be harder for him than he had first thought.
