Kuro stood there awkwardly, the air mattress in his hands feeling bulky. "Um," he started, running a hand through his hair, tilting his head and looking at the floor as well. "So . . . we should get you settled."

[dino egg]

"You need any help?" Yuki asked from behind Kuro. "Or can I go to sleep now?"

[DeMaizu]

Kuro jumped, whirling around and barely disguising his "eep!?" with a cough. "Um, no, it's okay," he said, his ears and tail showing.

[dino egg]

Yuki smiled slightly, amused by his reaction. "Day then, Kuro."

(I'm guessing it'd be "day" instead of "night" since they are nocturnal)

(Good point.)

Kuro nodded, smoothing down his hair (which stuck up when he was surprised). "Day."

(I'm gonna be Martha while she's still with us. Also going to first person for her.)

I jump a bit when the other woman, Yuki, asks the bot in front of me, Kuro, if he wants help. I glance up and do a little double take. Kuro has animal ears and tail. I've never seen a shifter do that. It makes me want to ask him so many questions, but I remember why I'm here and stay silent.

[DeMaizu]

(suspicion, suspicion . . . .)

Kuro turned awkwardly, his tail flicking back and forth. "Um, so that was . . ." he trailed off, uncertain. "Nevermind, let's just set up the bed," he said, shaking his head.

Kuro had curled back up in his chair, a dazed expression on his face. Martha had seemed nice . . . if extremely quiet. Not just the amount of words from her mouth but she spoke so low, it was hard to hear with his human ears. She kinda reminded him . . . .
He blinked and looked up at the clock. Nearly time to open the shop.

Yuki woke up and walked past Kuro and out the door. She often wandered around before the shop opened and when she went on break.
