Love and lost (Rvb AU 1x1 w/ kelsey.)

[Agent Maine(Meta)]

Omega covered his mouth to muffle his laughter at the moment.

"It'd need to be someone meta doesn't see as a threat." He answered.

Meta rumbled gently as he slowly rose to his feet, looking at wash suspisiously at first before settling down.

"North." Carolina volunteered the centaur.

"No." South defended her brother.

"Sure." North spoke for himself. Despite South's attitude and her grip on his arm, he headed over. "Big guy didn't seem to mind using me as a couch. I can tail them, Alpha." He nodded.

"Why doesn't Carolina go?" South argued.

"I would guess because she wants to stay near York." North answered gently. Carolina folded her arms indignantly. "She can stay, South, I really am fine with going."

Doc grinned wide, very pleased that he had made Omega laugh.

Wash warbled out to his mate again, standing briefly on his back leg before dropping back down to all fours.

Meta rumbled, rising to his back feet and stretching out his wings as far as possible before dropping back down to all fours. When north came trotting over, he rumbled, scrunching up a bit at first as h expected south to come stomping down on him after a few moments before settling down when she backed off instead.

South glared but stayed put. North walked up to Meta slowly, his tail swishing momentarily. "Hey man. Wanna go for a walk?"

Meta rumbled lowly, big amber eyes flickering from north, to south, to wash and back before slowly lowering himself and backing up quite a bit. The reminder of what hooves felt like on his tail still fresh and obviously not wanting to entice that out of south again.

North gestured for South to keep away. He then turned and cantered off to stand beside Wash. The werecat looked up at him and then rubbed his cheek against the centaur's legs. He glanced at Meta. Come on, North is a friend...!

It took meta a few moments, but soon enough, he slowly rose to his feet, back talons tapping loudly and nerviously against the ground before finally following the two. His ears fully up and pinned forward but his tail remained low to show both a curious look but also a caustious one as he followed.

A sudden sound escaping him when they reached a sizeable distance from the hospital, rearing back onto his feet with wings out and giving a horrid shrieking sound once more, the cause noticeable this time, which was a bright orange wisp like light that seemed to flicker like a small flame that seemed adamant in getting in meta's face.

North shook his head and shifted his hooves nervously as he turned and noticed Meta's agitation and its source. He looked to Wash, who has squinting at the wisp. "What do we do?" He asked the werecat, though he got no response.

Carolina and South both jolted at the shriek, and Carolina had to grab South to stop her from bolting after the group. "We don't know what that was, you might make it worse. Doc?"

"Why me?"

"Just go check it out."

Doc sighed, shoulders slouched, and jogged off a little ways to peek at the trio that had left.

Meta continued to make an array of distressed sounds that slowly turned to aggression as he batted at the small thing that easily evaded his claws til it was close enough to touch. Once it'd made contact, meta's pupils expanded drastically till his gold iris' were barely noticeable and he just... Flopped over on the ground with a low rumble, the wisp fluttering down and seemingly landing on the top of meta's head now, its glow much brighter now, as if it was pleased. Though when it noticed doc approach, its glow quickly diminished as meta's pupils shrank and he rose to all fours, turning on doc now with a highly aggressive snarl and bare of teeth.

Doc, though still quite far from the trio, easily picked up on Meta's aggression. He squeaked quietly, wanting to run but afraid to just launch into a short-lived hunt. He backed away slowly, hunched over, hands raised in surrender.

Wash's tail lashed as he quickly tried to figure out how to fix this. He looked around briefly before making a mewling sound and hop-running in a tight circle as if to play.
