Phong sighed, glancing at the newspaper that someone had left on a table outside as she walked by. The heading said something about crime rates rising again, now that Kira was 'gone' for the moment. Things like this always made her wonder if maybe it was better that Kira was there, but she always told herself it wasn't immediately afterwards. Phong jumped back as a robber ran out of a nearby bank, darting down the street and into an alleyway.
She followed him there, of course, but he was too far away for her to ever catch up to him. "Stop!" she shouted, pulling out a gun and about to shoot him.
Then he dropped dead. Literally.
Phong's eyes widened as she walked up to the man, giving him a harsh kick in the stomach, just to make sure he was really dead. "What the-?" she murmured to herself. No one just dropped dead like that...Unless...
"No!" she said out loud, then shut her mouth immediately afterwards. Kira is not back! she told herself. Just because a criminal drops dead doesn't mean that Light's starting to kill them again.
Or, at least, that was what she hoped.
