I can and I will, Willow responded as she made it out of the forest. The beach was silent, with no traces of activity, save for the footprints leading into the surf. The idiot had left without her. He had not taken his chest of Loric artifacts that was bound to be important; in fact, he hadn't taken anything. Just the clothes on his back, and even those were going to be soaking wet. Willow was going to make him regret this.
She dove into the water. It was surprisingly warm, considering how late it was. Maybe Willow was just too angry to feel the cold. With strong, steady strokes, she began the long swim to another country. All the while, all she could think of was how dead she would be if she wasn't Loric.
Rowan surfaced, awkwardly looking at Sam. He felt like an idiot today. "I just realized we forgot all our Loric stuff in Germany. If we took it, I would use one of those Loralite gems for the ring. She would love it." Even with how dark his skin was, a blush reddened his cheeks as he continued to swim.
Gingko groaned at her Garde's comment. "With that attitude," she called after her, "I'll be glad to have a very intense training session!" She realized she hadn't turned her laptop off, but thankfully Amber did that for her. But her finger hadn't been anywhere near the power button, last time she saw.
"What did you do?" she demanded, marching outside to join Amber. Gingko decided to brush off the strange happening; maybe her hand had just moved inhumanly fast, because Amber had quick reflexes anyway. "Okay, you get to pick the training today. I'm not feeling as murderous as usual."
Apricot felt a weird pricking sensation at the back of her neck before hearing Esme's voice. She groaned as she got a lecture. "Yes, mom," she said with a bad attitude in her voice, though she grinned at her Cepan when she was done. "Thanks. Anyway, I was kidding about the Facebook thing. I'm not gonna tell my location to those," she said a profane word in Japanese followed by an Italian one, "Mogadorians."
With a snicker, she stretched her arms. Her grin fell when she felt the pain of countless bee stings all over her body. "Can I just go for a swim?" she said with a displeased noise. "I'd like to see how you would react if you got a thousand bee stings from a really, really badly placed prank!"
Icaron tried to keep his eyes fixed on the map, but he couldn't help but give a quick sideways glance to his cohort. Against his will he made a mental note that her posture was very elegant. It wasn't her looks that got him, though, it was how efficient and ruthless of a murderer she was.
"I am certain the Sensationals are based in America, but you may be right," he commented casually. Rori reminded him of the queen of hearts from that Earth franchise; cruelly carefree and murderous. He loved it. "You may accompany anyone you wish. They may call you my second in command, but really, you do not need to take orders from anyone." He twirled his pen and then stabbed the sharp point into the center of the French circle.
"You thirst for power, Rori, don't you? I can give you what you want, but on one condition." His dark eyes were intense as he stared into hers.
And his voice was desperate, but it held a threat.
"That I never lose you."
[Some of the Loric are meeting up.]
