Aside from the elders, Leopardpaw, and herself, there were no cats in the den. She flicked her tail and nodded at each of them politely. "Hello. Leopardpaw has been stuck with the duty of showing me around camp." Mist was hoping to disarm them with humor, a trick she'd tried before with varying levels of success.

Redfawn purred with amusement. "Leopardpaw, who is this new cat?" Asked Patchear. Leopardpaw paused"I think Oakstar will have a clan meeting about that, but her name is Mist." Oakstar will have a clan meeting about her. Right? Thought Leopardpaw.

(I don't know, I'm not playing your characters ) Mist nodded, struggling to fight down her impulse to act as she had before. In that camp.
she started to open her mouth, but someone who sounded near the back of the den yowled "Who's making all that racket?" irritably, making Mist jump. She looked at Leopardpaw quizzically.

"And that would be Rufflepelt." Said Leopardpaw quietly. " I wouldn`t bother him he`s not as friendly as the other elders." Said Leopardpaw still quietly.

Mist looked at Leopardpaw for a moment longer, then shrugged. "Alright. I'll leave him alone." Probably, anyway, she thought privately. (Writer's block . . . and this earworm is not helping. Crumbs.)

Leopardpaw nodded. "Sorry Rufflepelt." Said Leopardpaw. "Come on Mist." Said Leopardpaw while walking out of the den. "I should show you the apprentices den, it`s where you will be sleeping if you decide to stay." Said Leopardpaw once she made sure Mist was following.

Mist was following, but her mind wasn't really going along. Mostly she thinking about the similarities between this camp and her old life. Like -
No, Mist, She told herself firmly. You promised you'd leave all of that behind. You promised them.

"This is the apprentices den." Said Leopardpaw walking into another den. "Hello, Snowpaw, hello Adderpaw" Said Leopardpaw to a entirely white Tom and a dark brown tortoise shell she-cat."This is Mist." Said Leopardpaw nodding towards Mist. "Who?" Asked Adderpaw. "Mist." Replied Leopardpaw. "If you want to know why she's here, ask Oakstar"Well, this is the apprentices den." Said Leopardpaw turning to Mist. "Follow me." Said Leopardpaw walking out of the den. "That's the warriors den." Said Leopardpaw flicking her tail towards another den. "And that's the medicine cat's den, and over there is the nursery, and Oakstar's den is over there." Said Leopardpaw nodding her head or flicking her tail towards each one. "Ok, now that that's done we should find Oakstar." Said Leopardpaw trotting over to his den. "Oakstar?" She called in stopping outside of the ferns. "Come in." Oakstar called back. Leopardpaw walked threw the ferns flicking her tail to signal Mist to follow. "Finished Oakstar, I showed Mist the whole camp." Said Leopardpaw. "Thank you, Leopardpaw, you may leave now." Leopardpaw nodded and walked out. "So, Mist? What did you decide?" Asked Oakstar turning to Mist.

Mist hesitated. It wasn't as if she was completely against the idea of joining, but her earlier sense or wrong just wouldn't go away. "I'll join," She finally said quietly.

Oakstar nodded. "I will have to have a clan meeting about this." Muttered Oakstar half to himself. "Not to offend you or anything, but we should change your name to Mistpaw, not that there is anything wrong with Mist." Oakstar said quickly before Mist could speak. "But since it is tradition to have all of the apprentices names end with 'paw' Mistpaw will probably help you get used to the clan faster. Is that okay with you?"
