He sighed but nodded. 'If.. You're sure..' he said, his voice cracking slightly. He turned back away and walked slowly back towards the forest, his claws digging into the ground slightly as he walked. His wings were tight against his scales, paining him. A trail of blood followed him from his open wounds. He wasn't enjoying himself, as pain filled his mind until all he could see, hear and feel was the pain.

He heard the whistle of the kettle and walked over to take it off the fire. His tattered and faded jeans were soaked through and his shirt was too. He took the kettle off the fire and poured the hot water into two cups, one for him, and one for Ashley. He put them down and added the juice of some berries to it before bringing them upstairs and into the room. He put them down on the bedside table and sat on the edge of the bed, his face in his hands. Ashley lay under the covers, asleep. Her wet clothes were on a chair by the upstairs fire and she wore pyjamas instead. He glanced over at here with sadness before he stood up and shook her gently. He helped her sit up as her eyelids fluttered open. Once she was sitting up, he handed her the small cup and she sipped from it slowly, allowing the warm sweet tea to warm her.

He was too far in for him to hear, so he just kept walking. ice's voice filled his mind, and the image of her flying accompanied it. He didn't need an image to remind him of the pain he had felt, as it filled him every step he took, never giving him a break from wincing. he felt that if he kept walking he'd never be able to wince again by the time he arrive, but he pushed on.

He sighed and stood up, pulling the blanket further up on her, so only her head was visible. 'Sorry' She whispered quietly but he silenced her before she could say any more. 'Shh.. Go to sleep' He whispered before heading off to get some hot water and cloth to clean up.
