- It had started off as such a nice day, they always did. Ritika hadn't even bothered to check the weather as she hurried out the door, her laptop and wifi hotspot all in her bag as she hurried out into the forest. She had a full job today, a major company wanted her to proof their site and while she had all her usual programs prepared, they would take several hours and most of her computer data to run them, so she thought she might as well take to the woods. Out there she could see a array of colors and explore as she waited for the programs to chew through the site's coding. Besides, yesterday she had found a small pack of caterpillar ready to wrap themselves up and she wanted to check the area again.
A little hum started from her as she half walked half skipped through the forest, switching eyes every couple of minutes to enjoy the color differences. Normally she'd stop not too far in when she had work to do, but today she was feeling a little more adventurous, not to mention the caterpillars had been pretty far in. Ritika wasn't quite sure where they were, but she knew the general direction and she was fairly sure she could find it again. As she progressed through the forest, she noticed the skies becoming more and more gray but it didn't slow her pace. The air didn't feel right for rain.
With a spring in her step, she made her way through the woods towards a quarry area she didn't remember seeing before. Once she had made it to a reasonably far break spot, she sat down and set up her computer, starting the first program which thankfully could run offline so she didn't have to start up her hotspot yet. Just as she was about wander off and explore while she waited for it to run it's checks on the coding, she felt the plop of rain on her head.
A glance up confirmed her fears and she had only a few moment to snatch her laptop up and dart down into the quarry and under one of the outcroppings before the rain started to pour down outside.
