Pallon gently kissed her temple. He would have rested his head against hers but didn't for his cheek was bleeding from a cut.

Bear smiled. "that's an excellent observation... Good to know. We can ask someone to look at it when we get back."

After a few more minutes of walking Rin fell into a deep sleep. Her hands barely hung around his shoulders and she hummed softly as she pressed against his chest.

Kalten chuckled and nodded, "Sounds good to me, but I'm raiding the kitchen when we get back. I'm starving".

Pallon smiled slightly as Rin slept. He glanced over when he saw movement.

Amelia smiled at the sight of Rin in pallons arms. "I take it you and Lt. Corva didn't work out since you're with her..."

Bear nodded. "I think a few others will want to join you..."

Rin hugged Pallon's neck as she slept before relaxing again and bringing her arms down to tuck against his chest. She was oblivious to Amelia's presence.

Kalten gave Bear a pitiful look, "Oh those poor, poor cooks. They won't know what hit em". His stomach objected as he spoke of food and he rubbed his abdomen, "I'm a growing boy. Food is an even more important necessity".

Pallon looked down at Rin as she moved. "aye you could put it that way... Lucien died Amelia. A while ago..."

"oh... That's... That's too bad..." Amelia sighed and watched where they were going. "you're kingsguard now, huh?"

Bear chuckled. "you should have thought about eating before we left."

Rin continued to sleep soundly in Pallon's arms and even purred occassionally until the baby kicked sharply and woke her up. She stayed as she was with her eyes closed and focused on the world around her, waiting for sleep to take her again.

"I did"! Kalten protested, "Like five pastries, some elk jerky, and two glasses of juice! I'm just hungry all the time, it's weird". He grinned up at his father, "You think I'm finally gunna get taller? I'm sick of being short".

"aye I am..." Pallon responded. He smiled slightly. "you like him don't you? I mean more than just a charismatic liking. You want to-"

"not another word hivar or so help me..." Amelias face had gone bright red.

Bear laughed. "that little eh?" He smiled. "it's a big possibility. You're at the age when kids start turning into adults."

Rin smiled broadly and cracked one eye open to peak up at Pallon. She flicked his chestplate with an audible clink and chuckled softly. "You're an instigator" she whispered to him.

Kalten made a face before chuckling, "Oh gross, I don't want to be an adult! That means I have to be responsible and think". He smiled, "Plus I won't be able to sneak around as well if I'm bigger".

Pallon chuckled lightly and smiled at Rin. "I know, but it's true." His eyes softened. "baby wake you again?"

Amelia fanned her face while Pallon was distracted and shot him dirty looks.

"oh, I can teach you to sneak with size." Bear replied with another chuckle.

Rin giggled and gave a little nod, "Aye they're getting good practice too". She stretched her arms out with a groan and rested them on her belly. She hummed lightly and turned her head to Amelia, "Don't mind him dear, he still doesn't know when to quit. Then again neither do I". She turned back to kiss his cheek.

Kalten smiled, "That doesn't surprise me in the slightest. So what will Tohveir tell Aii'in when we get back? Isn't he expecting a report"?
