Pallon nodded and squeezed her hand gently.

Bear smirked at Kalten. "Since when have I ever been sane?"

Jasnah brushed against Desha and rested her head on the younger dogs shoulders.

Juke waited until everyone was through before pressing on towards another set of doors. "Well welcome to Dumerrin everyone. We can rest here for the night or press on to the castle where you will all have rooms waiting. Tovheir has kindly requested a demonstration of fighting from my brothers guardsmen before meeting with our king, which will take place tomorrow."

Rin brushed her thumb over his knuckles when he squeezed her hands. She watched Juke as he explained then looked to Tohveir, "It's your call my liege". She chuckled as she overheard Bear.

Kalten shrugged with a smile, "You're my kinda sane". He grinned up at him, "Well you and I don't need much sleep, unless you wanna stay"?

De'sha huffed out a breathe and wagged her tail slightly as Jasnah rested her head on her shoulders.

Tovheir rubbed the back of his neck as the two pups settled down again. "Well if theyre leaving it up to me, I saw we keep going. I know it's late for you Juke, but to us its barely mid afternoon."

Juke chuckled. "VEry well." He motioned for them to follow as he led them out into what looked like a dark room in a tavern basement.

Pallon smiled at Rin with a confidence he didnt feel.

Bear shrugged "The faster we move the closer we get to our goal so I'm fine either way."

Jasnah pulled away and licked Deshas cheek before following.

Rin took Pallon's arm and wrapped it around her shoulders as she hugged his waist, "That's the spirit". She kissed his cheek and gently urged him forward.

Kalten nodded with a smirk as he turned to follow the others. He eyed the room as he walked and took in as much as he could in the darkness.

De'sha licked her chops and wagged her tail in response. She yawned and followed beside Pallon.

Pallon moved forward as urdged and hugged Rin to him as she hugged his waist.

Juke led the group through some other doors and finally up a set of stairs that led to a outside cellar door. The night air was a lot chillier than was to be expected but it seemed not to bother Juke as he started towards the city looming not far away.

The others followed silently taking in the dark flat landscape. The moon lit quite a bit of the area and revealed the large plans and animals sleeping in the distance. On the otherside the vast ocean lapped at the shore.

Jasnah trotted beside Rin.

Rin took in their surroundings with a cautious curiousity until her eyes finally rested on the city as its lights flickered and danced on the horizon. She looked out over the plains and watched larger shadows shifting about much to her dismay. She had read books about flora and fauna in Dumerrin, all of it, even those about common lore and dangerous legends.

Kalten easily adjusted to their new surroundings. The moonlight reminded him of the streets of Alenthia's capitol although this place hadn't any alleys or roofs to traverse. He smiled at the sight of the ocean and watched the tall grass, which came to his chest.

De'sha began to sniff about wildly. The new scents of the soil and inhabitants drove her nose to the ground and she would wonder into the grass around them, but never too far as she would pop back onto the road a few meters ahead.

Juke seemed completely at ease even with the creatures that were not far away. "Mostly hebivores that travel so close to the cities. The predators are not common to come near even in the night. They know our packs patrol during the moonlit hours."

Pallon watched the animals cautiously even with what Juke said.

Jasnah darted into the tall grass only to return moments later with a dead cobra in her jaws. She trotted over to Kalten wagging her tail proudly.

Rin calmed slightly but still watched the massive beasts. "Packs"? Rin repeated, "As in the wild dogs"? She watched De'sha carefully, whistling to her if she went too far for comfort.

Kalten jumped and backed away quickly as he realized what Jasnah was holding, "GAH! D*** it Jasnah! Why is it always me receiving these"?! He forced himself to pat her head and shuttered as he ran to catch up with the group.

De'sha halted at attention from Kalten's yell and raced to him. She sniffed the dead snake in Jasnah's hold and wagged happily before going off into the grass again.

Juke nodded. "Wild dogs and hyenas. It's unlikely that we will come across any of them though, until we get to the palace that is. My nephew has a wild dog that follows him around so you will meet at least one."

Pallon glanced back at Kaltens yell. He chuckled when he saw that Jasnah was carrying a snake in her jaws. He looked at Bear. "Have you told Kalten that youll be teaching him how to milk snake venom yet?"

Bear laughed lightly. "Dont need to, you just told him." He took the cobra from Jasnah.

Rin smiled eagerly, "Fantastic"! She looked at Pallon after he called to Bear, then turned to the assassin, "They'll be dead first, I think any snake that's alive will be sorry if it gets near Kalten".

Kalten's jaw would've hit the ground if it were able and he jumped as he caught up to the group, landing squarely on Bears shoulders, "Please tell me he's joking"?!

De'sha yipped and barked excitedly at Bear, hoping he would throw the snake.
