"What about oath binding?" Taivil's voice was somewhat quiet. He sat with Nianna in his lap and his arms around her protectively.

Mage muttered from inside his balnket cacoon, "Thats forbidden magic..."

Ryelin stood and looked at Mage. "You people consider every magic a reaper has to be forbidden magic!"

"Ryelin." It was a tone of warning from Aii'in. "Oath binding is dangerous and old magic, however it wuld insure us all that there would be no treachery."

"How dangerous"? Rin piped up into the conversation. She addressed Aii'in, "Are we looking at branding like Tohveirs or is it something more"?

Fal'rien looked at her daughter with a smirk, slightly surprised that she would talk so openly already.

Kalten nodded in agreement to Rin, "Aye, I'd rather keep my friends and family in one piece".

Aii'in looked at Rin and smiled slightly. "That is a very good question. Oath binding can be very dangerous, and it is similar to Tovheirs brand. Basically the terms are set and written in runic archaic. For the more powerful spells the runes are written directly on the skin and when the spell is activated the runes burn into the skin and become perminent. The magic doesnt set to work until the terms of the oath is broken by one side or the other."

"If the oath is broken the magic could kill the one who broke it. It all varies on the terms set in the origional spell." Crii spoke up after his father ended.

"So it puts both sides at risk but also dissuades any sort of betrayal" Rin summarized looking at Crii, "And how strict would we make the terms for their spells"? She would continue to prod and question until she had a comfortable understanding of the magics and there effects.

Fal'rien leaned back in her chair and nodded, wanting answers as well.

Kalten looked at Crii as he spoke, then to the table. He was trying to imagine all the assassins with markings all over their arms. He cringed slightly and continued to listen.

Aii'in nodded. "The terms would have to be thoroughly discussed, but the basis of what I'm assuming of what will be agreed upon will be that we protect them from their former guild and any others that are sent after them. In return we will allow them free reign in our territory provided that they not attack or take contracts on any of our lives. In other words they will be allowed the same automity of our assassins. the same privliges and the same restrictions."

"Here the assassins are part of a brotherhood. They are like spies, and they act like an extension of the guard. While they are allowed the freedom of taking contracts they must have excellent reasons for killing the target. Meaning those who disobey our laws and those who threaten our family." Taivil explained. "In a way uncle is offering them a chance to become a citizen of Ceveria. Of course they wouldnt have to join the assassins here. They can completely abandon their blades if they so wish."

Rin thought this over fr a second and nodded, "It's sounds fair enough to me, Tohveir? Bear? What're your thoughts on this"?

Kalten shot a concerned glance to Bear then put his arms on the table and leaned, resting his chin in his arms and peeking out from behind his brown locks.

Tovheir looked at Rin. "Quite frankly I think this is the best offer theyre going to get. Personally I think Aii'in is right to have such concerns. He doesnt know the assassins like we do, and most of them I dont trust for the most part either. This way they are getting a chance to be protected, they are being offered a job, and they will beable to support each other."

Bear listened. "My concern in for Siren. The magic suggested sounds dangerous, and apparently, according to Mage, is forbidden in Alenthia. How do we know it wont hurt the baby?" His hand rested on Siren's shoulder as he spoke.

Aii'in looked at Bear. "We would never risk it. We would have her be watched until after the child is born, and then she can take the oath, or by then we may trust her enough that we wont need too."

Rin nodded, "I guess you're right. If you both feel comfortable with it, then I won't question any further".

"It is settled then, the able assassins will take the oath and Siren will wait until her child is born" Fal'rien chimed in quietly.

Cerrina smiled, "I've kept M'lady and her family safe for years, I will gladly hold my sword for the mothers protection and watch".

Kalten sat up eagerly and raised his hand, "Me too"!

The assassins nodded in agreement

Aii'in smiled. "I'll speak to the assassins later to come to permenent agreement and we will preform the oath binding tonight... "

"Uncle." Taivil's voice was louder this time. "There is something else I must ask of you, but it is a matter for family only." He glanced at Tovheir.

Tovheir nodded and stood. "Assassins, Cass, Mage, Bear, Nick, Wolf, and Kalten follow me. I'll ask for Aii'in's people to show you to where you can stay and rest." He lead them to the doors and into the hall.

Rin watched as they all left then turned to Pallon, realizing Tohveir had neglected his name. She looked confused then blanched slightly at what she concluded Tai'vil was going to ask. She turned back around in her seat and sat rigid, watching her cousin and Nianna intently.

Fal'rien perked up at Tai'vil's request and glanced at Rin. She placed a reassuring hand on hers and smiled before refocusing on Taivil.

Cerrina stood behind them both, her smile fading quickly as she watched the others go. She returned to her authoritative disposition.

Kalten huffed but did as he was told and followed Tohveir and the rest of the group out into the halls. The doors closed behind them.
