"FIRE KING KENNETH!!!" Nagen called. "FIRE KING NAGEN BECKON YOU FROM YOUR TASK!" he laughed at his own silliness, but Majesty seemed to be enjoying herself, so he didn't feel quite as embarrassed anymore. He shrugged it off. "Well Fire King and Fire Queen can still cut veggies while await Fire King Ken's return." he smiled at her. "Would you like to help?"

"Of course," she says softly, forgetting their game for a moment. She giggles as she unloads the vegetables from her back, then quickly nuzzles Nagen. She had this tiny feeling that Kenneth had left them alone on purpose, but she would ignore it. What mattered was that they start cooking dinner so he wouldn't complain when he got back.

Nagen took up an edged stone and carefully began slicing a mushroom, cutting it into slices before he reduced it to minced pieces with fluid motion of his paw. He repeated the process until he had a sizable pile on the rock beside him. "Majesty dear, there's another stone beside me if you would like to help." he offered. He had the budding suspicion that Kenneth was lolligagging for a reason, that involved leaving him with only Majesty. Not that he minded this at all. He was perfectly content to have Ken out of his fur for a bit, though he would be needing that water. But for now, he would enjoy the time with Majesty.

She nods and finds the stone, then carefully begins to cut up a pepper. "I think Ken planned this, you know," she comments when she's halfway done the pepper.

Nagen flicked his ears as she spoke. "Hm?" he perked his ears up softly, his mind taking a moment to process her comment. "I think so too..." he blushed slightly at Kenneth. You could hide nothing from the little devil, and had easily figured out how much he liked Majesty.

"It doesn't surprise me very much," she says softly, picking out another pepper to cut. "He probably knows you just as well as you know yourself. You act like brothers, if not twins."

He blushed wildly. What does she mean he knows as well as I do...? Did she guess how much I like her? Oh boy, I hope she doesn't think I'm a creep....
Wait a minute Nagen. Just chill out... be cool, she might like you. He managed to calm his mind, and thought of something different to say instead. "Well, our zodiacs are the best matched according to astrology. Our Chinese zodiacs anyway." he chuckled, shakily cutting a tomato.

"That makes me surprised you aren't soulmates," she teases, blushing. Blossom had told her some about the humans' ways, including their beliefs. According to them, she and Nagen were likely very well-matched, if his snake-like qualities were any indication of his zodiac. Her paws shake as she begins to cut an onion, barely resisting the urge to hide her nose from the scent.

"I-I mean, if you're so well matched, usually th-that's what it means," she stutters in a cover-up.

"S-soulmates?" Nagen thought about it for a moment, the scent of peppers in his nose. His face broke into a deep blush. "Oh, oh, no, I mean, if Kenneth was a girl, then maybe but, but..." he trailed off in his embarrassment, barely able to cut the rest of his veggies. He knew that the only zodiac better well-matched for a snake thank a rooster, was the horse, but he was afraid to say it out loud. He was curious as to where his flawless charm and ease had gone. Maybe it was because he liked her so much that he was barely able to keep his thoughts collected, and could only find about five words of his vocabulary. He hoped she didn't notice his nerves as much as he knew that they were there. Maybe he should just come out with a confession and hope for the best. If he could only find the nerve to say such a thing.

Majesty laughs brightly. "I was only teasing, Nagen, sweetheart," she says playfully. It was very rare that same-sex couples occurred in their species, unlike the humans. It really begged the question though, what he thought of her. He had gotten all shy and flustered. Did that mean he was part of that rare few or was there something else she wasn't seeing?
