1X1 with ~Griffin: Blossom and Maverick

He smiled and nuzzled the soft fur between her ears, curling up to let a deep sleep claim him. His mind slowly began to get darker and darker as he drifted closer and closer toward sleep, and soon he was out cold.

Blossom lets out a tiny giggle i her sleep as she begins to ride the deep blue bubble through her dreamscape, the bubble colliding with pink blossoms and creating showers of purple rain. The further she goes, the more she sees these pink flowers and deep blue bubbles, less and less of other colors until nothing but those two things in hundred of copies can be seen. Each time they mix, purple rain scattered everywhere, sparkling in light whose source can't be found, but when collided with alike forms only darkness appeared. It made her confused, but so rare were their same mixing that she couldn't be bothered by it.

I feel like I'm misunderstanding a great deal of symbolism here.//


Maverick soon felt his mind form a dream. He was in warm water with Blossom, the tide pool soothingly calm as he teased a starfish that clung to the side of the rock. He heard a call from above the surface and made his way up, Blossom having called him from a rock she sunned herself on often. He pulled himself up out of the tide pool and shook off vigorously. But the shaking did not stop once he'd dried himself. The ground beneath their feet rumbled and he was struck with confusion and slight unease as rocks began tumbling down the cliff side. A large explosion like sound boomed over the beach and he called out to Blossom in confusion, his voice drowned out completely.
His ear twitched in his sleep as he curiously continued to watch the dream unfold, as her happy dream continued.

Blossom rolls over, halfway on top of him now as the bubble in her dream flips over. She giggles again and reaches out to poke a bubble, batting at his ear in real life.

He flicked his ear again as she batted at it and rolled slightly to the side, causing her to shift position, her head resting at his shoulder now.

He tried to move, but couldn't take a single step due to how hard the ground shook. He looked desperately at Blossom, who looked just as confused as he did. Her gaze shifted upward and widened in terror as a large rock crashed down right between them, the shock wace sending them flying onto the beach. They grunted as the wind got knocked from them, but he was delighted to see she was unhurt. Her gaze fixed on him, filled with the same relief before it shifted to her left, a bright red glare lighting up her face. He turned to see what it was just to see a huge tidal wave of molten lava wash over her. "Blossom!" He cried out. "NO!!!" he screamed in anguish, his cry cut off by a loud roar even louder than his. He fearfully ducked low and looked up at the volcanic mountain, his ears flat to his head and his usually sightless eyes wide open and gaping in terror.
He began to twitch more in his sleep, scraping his paws down his muzzle as he mumbled incoherent nothing's in his slumber.

Blossom trembled and the bubbles began to pop, ending with the one under her. She falls to the hard blackness of her empty dreamscape with a grunt. She jolts awake in real life to find Maverick thrashing slightly, and she presses a paw to his chest with light force to hold him down. "Maverick," she coos lovingly. "Maverick it's okay, I'm here." After whispering these reassurances she begins to sing. She was still tired, but she would sleep when he was calm.

His dream continued on. He gaped wide eyed at the mouth of the volcano he hadn't realized he was living on. Another loud roar echoed, and he flattened his ears further at another loud crash. His eyes widened even more as a large paw shot through of the rock, long claws hooking into the stone as another loud crack echoed through the sky, now black with ash and soot. Embers blew in the hot breeze that went by as cracks appeared in the volcano. The cracks spread, and without warning, the entire top of the volcano came off, revealing... A voxxie! No, it couldn't be a voxxie! This creature was at least twenty-five times his size! It had fire blazing on it's legs and spouting from its nose and eyes. It rose out of the heat, dripping with molten rock and roaring louder than anything he'd ever heard. The ocean! He had to get to the ocean. The water would protect him. He hurriedly turned to flee, but two combined lava trickles blocked his way. He was trapped!

"Maverick, listen to my voice," she urges gently before starting up the song she was singing when they met, the one he had joined her in. Her heart sung this song for him, its gentle tune calm and yet seeming like there was slight disharmony every now and again, as if it were a love song whose words were forgotten.

He shook and trembled in his sleep as the creature began bounding down the mountain toward him, its paws splashing in the molten stone, its eyes spouting wild flame from beneath its eyelids as it trained in on him. As the creature stopped above him, he awoke with a gasp, his breath heavy as he realized he was in the waking world.

Blossom stops singing and presses her paw to his forehead before caressing his head and ears lightly. "It's alright, Maverick," she purrs. "I'm right here, and you''re safe. We're both safe." She didn't know what his dream was about, but she wasn't going to let that stop her from comforting him.
