1X1 with ~Griffin: Blossom and Maverick

She laughs softly as she chases after him, pausing momentarily when she feels water splashing around her paws before remembering that he's right there and he won't let anything happen to her. She takes a deep breath and smiles before moving a little deeper, letting herself get used to the cold waves.

Maverick never bothered to wait for the water, and dove right in, his head bobbing back above the surface a moment later as he waded and swam right in front of her, patiently waiting for her to get used to the chill of the ocean water.

Blossom dips under the water, soaking her fur as she begins to swim, staying close to Maverick as a reassurance to herself that everything would be okay.

He paddled strongly over a wave, his head barely disappearing below the surface before it broke the waves, and he swam swiftly with the pull of the ocean, keeping Blossom close beside him. "You doing alright?" he asked her, spitting the salt away from his tongue.

"Yes. This is a lot of fun, Maverick," she says with a wide smile. She was certain that it would not be long before she learned to love the water as much as he did. She had already made great progress, going from afraid to tolerant, and it had only been a day.

He smiled, paddling right beside her as they swam through the waves by the shore. He couldn't wait to teach her to surf, and pull pranks on the fishermen that came here, and hold her breath for a really long time. All those things were fun on their own, but now doing them with Blossom would only add to the joy of these activities.

Blossom gets an idea then and rolls onto her back, keeping her nose and mouth above the waves as she simply floats. The water tugged at her fur, but she used her tail to keep from going under completely, actually finding this to be quite relaxing. She sighs happily and relaxes further, knowing she was safe with him here.

He heard the sound of her paws ceasing their movement, and a surge of panic shot down his nerves from his mind, seeming to burst out of the tips of his paws as he turned, her scent lost among the waves. "BLOSSOM!" He hollered, his voice raising several octaves higher than it should, not realizing that she was right there.

She winces, splashing him with her tail. "Calm down," she says gently, rolling back over and swimming until her side is pressed to his. "I'm right here. If I was in trouble, you probably would have heard a scream." She nuzzles his cheek reassuringly. "I'm alright. I'm not going anywhere."

"Well, I might not have heard you scream actually, these waves can overtake you before you have the chance." he flicked his ears in embarrassment as he resurrected from his mini-heart attack. He'd for a moment thought she'd slipped under the waves, and he was greatly reassured to hear her soothing voice promising him that she was alright. "Sorry for splashing you." he blushed.
